"Do you know what your sin is?"
"Hell...I'm a fan of all seven. But if i have to choose...I'm gonna have to go with wrath"
Love Mal and Love the Operative.

Serenity is a slice of time that we'll not get back.

But, you can't take the sky from me.

Funnily enough, my favourite line from another Joss Whedon production perfectly fits how I feel about Firefly/Serenity. "A thing isn't beautiful because it lasts."

I love that River went on the bank heist without any shoes.

Serenity was based on one of the best shows that never got anymore seasons and it's movie never got any sequels... Go Hollywood!

I saw this in theaters, never even heard of firefly or knew it was a sequel to the show. I was blown away and became an instant fan, was delighted when I found out the show was just as good. Always been disappointed they never made more, Fillion is getting old. On the other hand, I think most of us don't want them touching this IP again lol

Heavy restrictions on productions can breed greatness, but it must also have the people making it believing in the project and each other very much.

There was a interim comic between the series and the movie that show Mal using Book as a decoy giving a sermon to townspeople while the crew pulled a bank job Book then has to rescue them when the plan goes sideways but gets pissed off at the situation when Mal refuses to apologise or even admit what he did was wrong. They even reference how they bought the hover mule from the proceeds of finally selling the Lasseter pistol.

Mal actually had hand to hand combat training and experience as a soldier.... not just a bar-brawler... in fact it's his battle injury that enabled him to win the last fight ..

Sad and happy at the same time. Looked forward to this so much, sad it is over.

I am an OG Browncoat, little 17 year old me called into the fan podcast 'the signal' and I spent years playing the Serebtiy RPG.

Count me among those who saw the movie on DVD randomly before even hearing of the show. The show and the movie are both excellent, and timeless. Every generation fights to balance freedom and order, every generation uncovers a new cesspit of horrific lies propping up corrupt power, and every generation suffers losses along the way.

As this movie comes to a close, and we see the Serenity flying off out of the storm...The cut to Mal standing on the shipyard, staring at the Firefly, ignoring entirely the salesman comes to mind.

Its how I feel about this show.

One of my favorite movies of all time.

If you’re into board games, Firefly’s is wonderful, better than it has any right to be. Made seemingly by fans because it is a love letter to the show.

This was the Mal that Joss wanted for the show: a bit more of a brooding antihero.  Fox pushed back, and Mal became a little more up-and-happy, traditional-hero type.  (Joss admits in the commentary of The Train Job that putting Niska's man through his engine was HIS pushing back.)

1:49 Well, you say that, but my then-girlfriend and I watched Serenity together early on in our dating relationship 😊She is a huge SG-1 and Atlantis fan and was totally down for more sci-fi, and she really liked the movie! We’re engaged now 😁

With Book and Wash getting killed, and many of the others getting shot down, I was seriously wondering if Serenity was gonna be one of those movies where everyone dies.

I’ll never forget my dad loved the show and always told me about it and he had a serenity hat he got from an early premier of the film he got tickets to go see from his friend who owned a comic shop and I didn’t realize till years later what the serenity movie even was or was about. That’s how bad the promotion for this film was.

My favorite part is when they talk to Mr Universe, watching the footage. Malcom says can you go back pls? Mr universe says ... no... and Malcom says in the background...uh... please?? Lmao
