Tim tried his whole career to be funny, and that one time he was serious was the only time he was funny. Beautiful.

What do you mean you lost the baby?

Go find it.

To be fair, that Halo 3 tampon joke is somehow the smartest joke Tim ever could muster.

“He has a pet penguin for some reason.”

My man, you just showed a strip with the punchline being he uses Linux.

It's honestly kind of refreshing to see that this story ends with Buckley mellowing out over time rather than becoming more and more absurd like Moviebob or only touching grass because someone else told them to like Dobson.

I will never get over the fact loss is based on a real miscarriage Buckleys ex suffered, she might have lost the baby but Buckley found us comedy gold

True story: I was at Conneticon a few years back, and saw Tim Buckley had a booth with some guy (who looking back, dressed a lot like Andrew Dobson LMAO) arranging the booth who I assumed to be him. I was like “oh my god, it’s Tim Buckley!” and my friends with me were like “who?” so I start getting into explaining all the memes he’s originated.
while this happens, someone walked by our group and caught our convo, and started poking me about how much I knew about the lore. I joked about watching the show, some of the webcomic, CAD with the middle cut out, ETC. at some point I asked “by the way, I didn’t catch your name?”
“Oh, I’m Tim Buckley”
instant mortification LMAO. He seemed pretty cool about it but that interaction will forever haunt and amuse me for the rest of my days.

7:09 this aged in a way

I met Tim at a small convention back in the mid 00's.  He was...fine at the panel he did.

Later, we were at the staff party for the con, he showed up later already SUPER drunk.  Had a woman with him who seemed to be trying to just get him through and out of there as quickly as possible.  Said some strange things (nothing out of the ordinary for a super drunk person), did a lap, and left.

Came back maybe an hour later.  Woman looks more frazzled.  He's holding this thing we can't figure out what it is.  Then he shows everyone this huge red mark on the back of his shoulder.  I guess he went back to his room, tried to take a shower, fell, hits the ceramic soap holder, and broke that off.  He then got dressed again, and brought it back to the party to show everyone because it was hilarious to him.  No one else really found it funny, more worried about him.

Then he left again now too long after that, and I never saw him after that (that night or the next day at the con).  I feel like I got the full Tim Buckley experience.

"Loss" is basically my "I was there 3000 years ago" moment.

What a lot of people tend to forget was the build-up to this comic.

Tim Buckley was acting up, banning people left and right on the forums, saying inflamatory stuff on his site. And let's not forget the multiple tracing and copying scandals (Link and George Lucas, anyone?). There was so much more, but that was the gist of it.

Long story short, CAD was a powder keg that was about to blow. So many people were just reading the comice like a bunch of vultures. Something was going to happen, it would be big, it would be messy and you did NOT want to miss it. And then, out of nowhere ...

Loss

Things did not just explode, it went supernova and the rest is history. And boy, was it a wild ride to live through.

I cannot believe that you used MY profile picture for your thumbnail. Im sending my lawyers.

I love how any poignancy in the ending gets obliterated by the decication of the CHURCH OF GAMING the final panel.

My favorite story about Tim Buckley's absolute contempt for his audience is that during the peak of his comic he would only ever go to the Comic con closest to his house, sign a stack of his book and just play Xbox the whole con. Never talk to any fans, never shake any hands, never so much as give them a glance.

21:33 I actually got to chat with Dave B. Mitchell back in May at a convention. I asked him about Ctrl Alt Del and he was telling me that Lucas and Barry were some of his first big roles he had in voice acting that led him to a bunch of other jobs in the industry.

So, if Tim Buckley never made Ctrl Alt Del, Knuckles would probably sound a lot different right now. Weird how that works out.

He also told me that not a single soul has ever asked him about his role in Ctrl Alt Del before. I guess I hold that honor now, lmao

Ive never seen what Tim Buckley looked like. But it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that the main character of his comic looks exactly like him

Buckley missed the ultimate opportunity to have Ethan to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on the time machine.

Buckley accepting his fate and legacy and growing up to become a chill guy is a surprising and welcome plot twist. Not every disaster needs to end in disaster. Godspeed, Tim Buckley, godspeed. Also, that mustache of his is absolute drip what the hell.
