THANKS FOR MEMORIES.... GREG

That Cheetamen commercial doesn't look real, it looks like something that would be made 30 years later as a joke.

>man promises shitty game with a major bug patched
>delivers shitty game with a major bug patched

What a non-controversy holy shit

Nah, if you buy a game because a guy who publicly called it shit advertised it to you, that's on you.

"passed away", "no longer with us"
It's fucked up that it's actually refreshing seeing a youtuber using a thesaurus instead of the word "unalive"

The fact the guy who created Action 52 actually thought doing a multicart "legally" was a goldmine is hilarious.

Kids didn't love it because it had 50-in-1, they loved it because it was all their favorite games bundled together cheaply and easily accessible

This isn't hard to understand 😂

The Cheetamen are somehow the most badass and the most comedically uncool things ever made

The irony of making the Cheetahmen buff considering Cheetahs barely qualify as big cats and are essentially a nerfed Leopard

To me, imo, the most surprising part of this whole Cheetahmen saga is the fact that this Kickstarter wasn't a scam, and people actually got something out of it.

Even if it was still shit.

"We got rescue games that are smooth like ice!!"

>shows choppy game footage at 25 frames a minute

Amazing

Literally the least fraudulent Kickstarter project

"We're smooth like ice!"
The only thing they have in common is the freezing part

The cheetamen ran off ... And now the cheetamen

14:08 Teenagers in the 2010s recording rage footage for their angry game review while trying to not wake their parents.

“Why was the nerd advertising a game he called complete 💩”

It’s the same reason why he tells his viewers not to play these games, yet they ended up buying from retro game stores and playing. I know my brother did that exact thing with a few games. James decided to boost up on his reverse psychology sway while getting paid mucho bucks.

Early 2010's Youtube and internet culture is very refreshing to see again. It feels so much more real and low budget. I can't believe I'm feeling nostalgia for it now that im in my 30's

At the National Video Game Museum in Texas they actually have a whole dedicated exhibit just for Action 52 & Cheetahmen II (and yes, including the AVGN video; edited for family audiences)
EDIT: Apparently it was only a temporary exhibit

this wasn't mentioned in the video but Japan memed the absolute hell out of Cheetahmen in 2007 on NicoNicoDouga and YouTube, 3 years before AVGN even talked about it and that's always been fascinating to me for some reason.

The fact that 4 developers managed to crunch 52 games into one is a major accomplishment of its own volition. Even if it was rushed as shit.

To be fair, getting rid of the bugs would have removed the only appeal to Cheetamen
