People seem to be very confused so let me clear something up. People are pointing out that Norwegian is a Category 1 Language, making it one of the easiest to Learn in the world.
1. I stated "Western world" which for the most part does not include many languages past Category 1.
2. Just because it's a Germanic derived language does not make it magically easy to learn for an English speaker, especially when it comes to pronunciation.
3. As a resident in Scandinavian countries for several years, and having spent 100s of hours in classrooms with other English speakers (and people from all over the world) learning Scandinavian languages, I can assure you, nobody has found it easy. If you're a linguist and have an interest in languages then of course it's going to be easy for you, this does not apply to the vast majority of people.
