Man, that packaging...
I hate how every game on the shelf nowadays is in a standardized plastic box.
Back then, you had some real creative minds in the art department.

7 years and you haven’t done a fallout 2 review?!?!?!?!?

At least dogmeat doesn't shoot you in the back when they get a chance... I'M LOOKING AT YOU IAN!

what i love about fallout1 is that it's an RPG that uses you're character to see into the world. while most rpgs are about the character being the hero of the world.

i think the original fallout games would do really well on mobile and tablet devices, turn based rpgs are great for those platforms and a whole new generation of gamers would get a chance to play them, bethesda should really consider porting them over.

The first 2 fallout games are so fucking good

That Vault Dwellers Survival Guide is STILL the best game manual I've ever seen.

classic pc gaming boxes were awesome. thanks for bringing back the memory

Hey, here's a guy who considers Fallout 1 his favourite in the series. You found one.

I like how Bethesda reused that "vault dweller survival guide" info book idea for their info book in fallout 3's disc case

ah good old Fallout, this was the game that first got me into RPGs and I will always love it for that

I've never felt as much overwhelming love for a game as Fallout 1. The only other game that I've enjoyed even a similar amount is Deus Ex.

"the ability to kill children". SOLD!

I have such nostalgia for Fallout 2. It's the main reason I enjoyed New Vegas more than Fallout 3.

@AFnord 10 years ago

Fallout 1 was a bit more consistent in tone than Fallout 2, so I don't find it surprising when I hear someone say that they think that it is better than the later parts. Personally, I think Fallout 2 is the best in the series, but I've met several people who disagree with me on this one.

I hate that YouTube didn’t grandfather the old annotations into recent updates

Clint proving he’s been ahead of the game again and again.

Clint, I have to agree. I've always felt like Mark Morgan's soundtracks to both 1 and 2 were some of the most atmospheric game music ever created. I still listen to both OSTs to this day. It may be the wave of nostalgia I had when I first played them back when I was a teenager, but I feel like they hold up to anything considered modern AAA.
