Classic Fallout felt like an actual apocalypse. New Fallout feels like a theme park in a vault suit. This video is about that change — Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and New Vegas versus Fallout 4, the Amazon Fallout show, and the version of the series built for people who never played the games.

Vault Boy was a satirical parody of corporate mascots. Now he's a corporate mascot. The irony was never lost

Gatekeeping is good. When art tries to appeal to everyone, it loses it's identity and appeals to nobody. It becomes a product, built to make money. Instead of art, built to speak to the soul.

1:56 the irony is that the ghouls of ten penny tower kill all the human residents unless you get rid of them, that’s why it’s the good option to stop them

The art style of the older games is also way better. The worst lie ever is that the more "realistic" the graphics the better.

Stalker feels more like the apocalypse and the world didn't even end in that series.

I've come to realize that the people that scream about gatekeeping just tend to be insufferable or awful people.
People gatekeep because they're passionate about something, and then you got the people deeply upset at their passion when they're not even passionate enough to scale this imaginary gate.

Nothing is serious anymore. Because "they" dont take it serious. They think everything nerds and gamers like are a joke. Fantasy, sci fi, and everything in between. Its all a joke to them.

I used to think gatekeeping wasn't right, I thought it wasn't fair.
Now I understand how wrong I was.

Reminder: Fallout isn't made for everyone, it's made for anyone.
Anyone can pick it up and potentially enjoy it. But not everyone is gonna enjoy it

Seems like everyone doesn’t understand what “gatekeeping” is.
Gatekeeping isn’t about preventing people from getting into a hobby or franchise, it’s about FILTERING the people who want to enter- just like what real historical gatekeepers did.
