Tom Felton AKA Malfoy landed the role of a lifetime at the age of 12. For Tom, landing a role in one of the biggest film franchises of all time (Harry Potter) was obviously considered a blessing. A guaranteed launchpad, financial security, instant name recognition and a fanbase that follows you wherever you go. However since leaving Hogwarts, Tom has struggled to escape the character and even reprised his role under his overlord (J.K Rowling), which led to him taking on some of her backlash....

31 minutes of screen time over 7 films if that's true he made a big impression.

Millennials still being passionate about the stuff that shaped them as teenagers is not a new phenomenon. Tom's passion is just a million times more public than most of us.

He needs to play a Targaryan

He's a nice lad, it's that simple for me,

I hate that being passionate and proud of things is considered cringe nowadays. I don't understand how Tom being a fan of a franchise that essentially shaped his entire youth is somehow bad.

Tom Felton seems to be someone who really gennuinelly loves that he was part of Harry Potter and this is the kind of trivia about any actor I like that I really appreciate finding out about.
It was the same when I discovered how much James Earl Jones liked Star Wars.

Honestly tom is valid, he’s living his life to his terms and he’s happy

God forbid someone likes something they were involved in

Screen presence over screen time any day. Anthony Hopkins was on screen for just over 16 minutes as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs. Got an Oscar for his efforts.

If I was a part of a multi billion dollar cultural phenomenon before I reached the age of 13 I too would never stop shutting up about it

I would love to be cursed like him, by being a milionaire and set for life.

0:33 that has to be one of the worst things I’ve heard all week

12:22 That's a sobering fact. 31 minutes across all films sounds so tiny but they are quality over quantity.

Akin to British soaps where actors play one main role for their career is defo something to be admired and appreciated 💚

He made a huge bag and is now doing what he wants to do. Fair play. People looking up to famous people for "their stance" is such a weird and parasocial thing to do.

The craziest part that his role in the novel should be a minor one but his acting alone makes his character famous

Tom Felton's criticisms can be laid on ANYONE who has appeared in Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek, WWE... any franchise, if you're given a golden ticket to appear in something legendary, then it's your right to make as much money for yourself out of it. And no one who gets the opportunity to be in that position can say they wouldn't. People don't sh1t on Mark Hamill for hanging on to Luke Skywalker for just shy of half a century, and demanding $250 for an autograph.

I sure as heck would! Leave the poor sod alone!

11:53 Correction: Rowling didn’t write the cursed child. That was written by Jack Thorne.

I do think you made a good point that at least the majority of the young cast has not forgone terrible misfortune upon themselves. I’m glad they’re all living their lives as they should for the joy that they brought to many of us that watched them as kids.
