Wizards and Warriors animated fantasy documentary lore video series on GRR Martin's world of Ice and Fire continues. Previously, we have covered the story of the rise and fall of the Targaryens (Rise and Fall of the Targaryens - House of...) and the story of the Game of Thrones before the Winds of Winter (Game of Thrones - Full Story Before the Wi...). Our new series will deal with the earliest history of Essos and Valyria and in the first episode we will talk about the clash between the Dragon and the Harpy - the so-called Ghiscari Wars, as the Old Empire of Ghis and the rising new power of the Valyrian Freehold clash in brutal conflict. The expansion of Valyria continued against the Rhoynar and Andals, and eventually led to the defeat of the Rhoynar and coming of Nymeria and her ten thousand ships to Westeros. In this video, we will also describe the doom of Valyria, telling the story of its fall.

Valyrians defeat the ghiscaris.
The slaves: yeah we're free.
Valyrians:"Oh I wouldn't say free. More like under new management.

I’d like to see Valyria. The houses. The dragonlords. The infrastructure of their cities.

Who else wants an HBO series about the Rise and Fall of Valyria?

@wyatt8315 2 years ago

It’s a shame Martin will never finish the series

It always amazes me how in depth these fictional stories are...the past thru the present. Even down to each person's history

I would dearly love a book on the history of the Freehold families. A history of the prominent families and Aenar’s predecessor Targaryrian Lords who lived in Valyria. Their names and stories.

This video is superb! Not only the storytelling but the graphics, the 3D map as it was a game, all really well done (and no AI generated images)

Quite obvious that Valyria represents the rise of Rome, and Old Ghis represents Carthage.

It's crazy how we have all these billionaires running around an practically none of them ever go, "Hey, I love this book series so much that I'm gonna contract this production company to adapt it into an animated show (because live action is too expensive & takes years to produce)". The Japanese have no idea how great they have it.

So the Valyrians are basically Human Chaos Dwarfs with dragons? Nice.

Maybe basing your empire near a chain of volcanoes ain’t the brightest idea.

This is exactly what the fandom needs...

26:10 the Valeryians at their height had more around 800-1000 Dragons, those 300 were probably the bigger and stronger ones rather then all the dragons, and most of those were equal in size, or bigger than Dragons like Balerion the black dread, and Vhagar, and the smallest ones would probably be as big as Vermithor or Sheepstealer

Man if Sega could make a dedicated Westeros Total War...The current fan mods are fantastic.

You listen to this and you kinda understand why Dorne was especially adamant about bending the knee to the Targaryens.

I really wish they would make a series based around Essos and the whole Valyrian rise and fall. It would be amazing to see as all we have is the illustrations, indepth stories and fan made films to go off.
