ARKLOW ROSE, one of only seven 6,800-tonne Eco-Traders of her class, arrives at Workington under cover of darkness carrying a reported 6,000 tonnes of cement powder from Lisbon, Portugal. The video also features footage of her 2024 launch, the unloading operation, the vessel being turned to discharge the remaining cargo, and her departure with assistance from tug HELVELLYN.

Using a spring to turn a vessel. West Cowes to Southampton Red Jet used to be a Hydrofoil making use of the old dock. After boarding in West Cowes Full Speed stern and the tiny thing swung round till it faced forward.

enjoyed that video

Lovely video. I think the Captain could be forgiven if he put a scratch or two down the side getting it in and out through that gap.

What a business to turn the vessel! I guess there isn't space to turn in the basin or just outside it. I can see how going ahead with an aft spring at the bow would allow the stern to move off the dock and make space for Helvellyn. Ships often seem to have a little trouble getting off that dock, especially when there's a breeze pinning them to it.
