In the end, it was you that made the spoony movie

That's pretty cool of Richard Garriott to reach out to Spoony to cheer him up. Always liked that guy and I think Spoony's content had an indisputable impact on keeping his legacy alive after he'd been out of the gaming industry for so long.

LordKat blaming Noah for costing him interviews was funny considering the stuff Jim Sterling and Destructoid did while still getting crazy access. Devs don't really care about that stuff.

Spoony was my favorite content creator as a teen, especially during his "golden years" of 2007-2011. The releases of his game reviews were treated as events in my friend group, and we'd gather and watch them together. Thanks, Spoony.

Watching Spoonys old videos is just depressing. He seemed so… Happy.

Lordkat blaming spoony is probably one of the biggest displays of cope I've ever seen.
People didn't watch him because he's boring. Not because he didn't have an interview with Notch

I only ever remember LordKat existed whenever I watch something about Spoony

IF you weren't there in the late 2000s, Spoony was a very close second to the AVGN in terms of quality. What's so sad about his story that he would likely have millions of subscribers if he would have made his normal content. His vlogs were fun to listen to,  and I think he would still have a strong audience if he kept that up. He was a little ahead of his time since livestreaming didn't exist.

I believe the idea behind donations have changed. Most people who donate now just want to support a creator. Back then, everyone expected some drastic event to happen. I know a movie was promised, but that was almost a chiche back then.

At any rate, I hope Spoony is doing well now. Rest in peace Oreo.

Spoony is just sad. Guy clearly had mental iusses. Hope he gets back on the saddle some day.

It's pretty clear in hindsight that Spoony was crying for help from the beginning. It probably didn't help that people were clowning on him when he clearly was not mentally stable. As soon as he started drinking on camera someone should have intervened.

Having been through bouts of, as I like to call it, "I don't care if my apathy ruins my life" depression, Noah's story makes me so terribly sad. I know what it feels like to know what you're supposed to do and be unable to force yourself to do it, even if it's easy or something you used to take a lot of joy in. It's so painful to watch yourself fade and fall short.

You missed a notable thing. In 2010, Spoony was crapping on a fighting game based on the tv show "Deadliest Warrior" and a developer of that game to basically ask him to cut the game some slack as it was a budget title and they're just trying to make their own way in game development. Spoony posted the email and shared his response to further humiliate the guy, starting the reply off literally, "u mad bro?" and ending it with "And next time, Spike, spell my fucking name right. It’s Spoony. With a capital S. As in, your game is Shit with a capital S.

"Remember it, because people listen to what I have to say."

Peak ego, right there.

The sad thing is is that Spoony could 100% make a successful comeback. He has all the talent in the world to make it in entertainment but no ability to get out of his own hell of depression, self loathing, and lack of confidence. And despite all of that, people still love him. He STILL has fans- I’m one. I hope he’s happy doing whatever he’s doing now but still hoping that he returns one day.

I always wanted to see Spoony happy, healthy, and in his own capacity to do what he wants to do

As someone who's had mental issues and is still dealing with them, I recognize in Noah things that I've gone through myself. I've followed Noah since the very beginning, going way back to when YouTube was still a pretty new thing. Back in the day he used to be quite open about his mental issues - at one point writing a lengthy post explaining why he had been absent for a long time from the scene, telling people about his bipolarism: I vividly remember him saying even after more than 15 years, "mental medication is not happy pills". Unfortunately, over the years, the negative side of bipolarism was starting to get the better of him and he became more withdrawn, less energetic, angry with himself and other people, ultimately getting to the point where he pretty much became a recluse. And while not everything can be put on his mental issues, they are big in this. Before I started having my own mental issues, I couldn't quite understand such, thinking that you just need to cheer up and whatnot - then having had clinical depression and anxiety, it hit me how they play in you becoming a husk of who you were. I sincerely hope that he can gradually get better now.

"Shittier than a Mormon prom", that's a good one. Multi-faceted. Spoony was a witty guy.

I really think Noah could benefit from a non-online job even if it’s an unglamorous one. Yeah, he’s been out of work for a long, long time but if he actually had the were with all to work and someone gave him an opportunity (there are plenty of people who would) he could work somewhere and make real life connections that get him out of the naval gazing spiral and online lashing out. All of his depression reminds me of people I’ve known who let an isolated mentality crush them. Him trying to go back to reviewing would actually be detrimental to him. I like him and loved his old reviews. I loved Phantasmagoria 2, the Ultima series, and Ripper. I wish him to get control and stability.

The Jewwario video is gonna go so insane
