Keep bringing this type of cars to the chanel thats what we want to see here

Servicing is good but driving style is a factor.

The gasket that’s sits between the seat and the steering wheel is what caused the damage. Love the videos Dean.

When you pictured the oil filter that was all to know this engine is gone. I would not use any part of this engine again. All that metal has gone through all the engine for a good amount of time. Even reusing the head could be an issue. You at least have to take it all apart and renew all bearings in thee head itselve.  When i see this much metal in the sump to me that's a no no. Because even when you clean it all out there can be something small hidden you don't catch causing issues later on.

Apart from the obvious massively abused and overheated “my golf R is the fastest on the planet” damage, that looks a really nice car

always turn off the depress clutch to start on these - much cheaper to fix a bumper than an engine

Probs had its nuts revved off from the get-go.
Enjoy! 😎

scrap all oil lines and turbo might be destroyed as well with the silver sludge running trough its bearing.

Those service intervals are crazy!
15k,10k,9k
Call me paranoid but the last time the VAG group recommended 10k services there were thousands of 1.8T gummed up with sludge.
I service my R every 5k miles for peace of mind

What's the betting it's been remapped...

I'm willing to bet that the last place to service it ran the engine with no oil in it.

BCA don't like doing returns at the best of times, so this must be really screwed

I've not worked on a car for years. Finding your videos really enjoyable. I think watching you work through the issues, working out solutions is simply brilliant and professional. Thank you sir.

3:06 It won't start without inputting the ghost 👻

Love the 2.0t content. Can’t wait for the rest of this series.

Brings tears to my eyes each time I catch sight of the TVR , wish I had space to adopt it

Lots of glitter. It looks like that motor wants to be Fabulous.

I wonder what the ‘This block is knackered’ counter will be for 2026 😂.

Great video again Dean!
