🎬 Americans React to "What's The F*****g Point?!" | When Panel Shows Break Down: Part 1 | Cats Does Countdown

We are Greg and Lisa, an American couple who moved to Spain in early 2024. We left the USA for a better life and a change that only moving to an entirely new continent can give us. We created this channel to react to the world around us. To learn and experience our new home. This channel will be dedicated to Europe with a focus on the United Kingdom.

We're so glad you're here — and truly grateful for your support.

📄 Today’s Video Summary
Oh my gosh, we love this type of compilation! It introduces us to more comedians and actors and get a good laugh in! Jimmy Carr tries (and fails) to keep control while comedians crack up, go off-script, and question why they’re even there. It’s pure British panel-show energy: fast, unfiltered, and absolutely ridiculous.

Cats Does Countdown needs to be explained.
There's a show called Countdown which has been on TV since 1982. It featured highly intelligent people solving maths equations and anagrams.
There was another show called 8 out of 10 Cats which was comedians answering questions about news and pop culture moments that week.
Then in 2012 they did a one-off show where they blended a variety of shows together to celebrate Channel 4's 30th birthday, one of which being Countdown and 8 out 10 Cats, where they got celebrities and comedians to try and play the game. It was so popular that they started regularly airing both Countdown (in the day) and Cats does Countdown (at night).

The fact Sean is no longer with us is so sad he was a tremendous comedian ❤

@drumedorable 10 months ago

That must have been the first time that Miles Jupp and Kevin Bridges has been mixed up.

@ruddyy123 10 months ago

2:20 he’s talking about how big the letters were at the start of the poem and how they started getting smaller and more right write down as he was running outta space 😂

Jon's a fantastic comedian. I've seen him live and he's always quality. His Live at the Apollo set from 2014 is great.

11:04 swearing is totally normal and accepted on British game shows as long as it’s past 9pm. The fact he’s swearing wouldn’t shock anyone here

@dazediss6629 10 months ago

The episode where Sean and Myles are on the same team is incredible. Jimmy has to stop the game because Myles complains that Sean keeps whispering to him about Hitler 😂😂😂

@ruddyy123 10 months ago

Jon is calmly funny. I didn’t rate him the first time I’d seen him. But he grew on me and is actually hilarious

@juliannerohm1297 10 months ago

Jon is a comedian. He is funny. Not everyone understands all types of humor. Jon is wound very tight. He really does have OCD and is really an elderly man in a young man's body. He makes fun of himself. He's funny.

At this point we are all just waiting for Sean's outrageous comment :)

@judithdoughty7967 10 months ago

Re. Rachel's "assistant" Joe. You need to watch his poem. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

That was Miles Jupp that Sean said he wouldn’t spit on

PLEASE ! PLEASE ! PLEASE ! Be aware (and I cannot STRESS this too much)..... that with MOST (all?) British 'game shows, quizzes or similar', the object is rarely OR necessarily to WIN... In FACT, no one in the WHOLE of the UK CARES about the score! It is ALL ABOUT the 'banter', 'humour' and 'interplay' between the contestants... It's the laughter, fun and about "taking the Mickey": This common British phrase (short for "taking the mick" or "taking the mickey out of someone"), it means to mock or tease a person in a playful way. I have been travelling to the US for 45+ years and genuinely, I met SO MANY Americans who can't or don't understand the concept of 'banter' - In the WHOLE of the US, the object is to WIN (often at whatever the cost!). And seriously, I have 'taken the piss' out of an American (in TOTAL, innocent humour), only for it to 'back-fire' ON ME, badly!

Did you notice, that at no time was Jimmy able to get in the basket more than.......
8 out of 10 cats

I'll see myself out, just let me grab my coat.

@Jono-pomDownunder 10 months ago

As you can see the Brits aren't uptight about swearing, apart from anything else it's just punctuation

@majbrat 10 months ago

Fans will watch whole episodes. They can be wild. Really fun.

@ScottishPaulB 10 months ago

You have to watch an episode of Countdown to see how it should be played 😂 then you can enjoy the shambles that is this show!😂😂😂

Humphrey, who comes out with "Fine, I got 769, so f*** off", is Humphrey Ker who's now a director at Wrexham Football Club after he got Rob and Ryan to buy the club.
