No they are not all based in America it’s just the way the music glows. Brits pop up everywhere, the man who composed Michael Jackson’s Thriller was one.

they don't sound american, the american's sound like us. and trust me, we are so so proud of our musical talent. we export it to the world.

We're extremely proud of our artists whether thats musicians, actors, writers or another field.... they've all had huge influence around the world.

We DO claim our artists. We are proud of them.
It's not our fault that so many Americans are ignorant and assume they're American! 😂
The rest of the world seems to know they're British.

You are correct, Natasha and Daniel Beddingfeild are siblings

British Singers, Songwriters, Musicians, Bands, Pop Groups, Record Producers, Sound Mixers, Recording Studios, Industry Artists, Mastering Engineers, Audio Engineers, etc. All of these have contributed to 25% of all popular music throughout history. That has had some kind of British influance or involvement.👍

This list could have been 500+ songs.

World, you are welcome. All the artists are British.

British people know, we also recognise artistes can be other nationalities and don't just presume everyone in our charts must be British 🙄

From the 1960s to today British music packs a punch around the world for a small island country British music represent 21 to 26% of world music sales producers artists global bands the uk packs a big punch in music

Not bad for an island the size of New Jersey

I agree with you, Sade is one of the most beautiful women to exist. Great reaction.

Just to clarify/educate, they are not singing in an American accent. Singers shape the words to the tune, so the vowel sounds will be the same/similar regardless of your accent. Also, British artists usually soften their consonants, which otherwise can sound a bit harsh when singing. Americans do that naturally, as they have a less precise way of speaking. Think of the way Americans soften the letter ‘t’, for example in ‘butter’. It sounds more like ‘budder’. Softer consonants often create a more pleasant sound when singing.

I met Sade back in the 80s ...she was AMAZING. It was in a nightclub, where i was filming for a TV Pop show (I was a handheld ENG Cameraman, back in the 80s) and after one of the bands finished a set, I went to the bar to get a drink, when a stunningly beautiful girl moved over for me to reach the bar, and kindly asked how things were going. I was a bit blown away to be honest, I was only 23 (!) but we chatted easily for five minutes, before I had to return to the stage to carry on filming...I did NOT know the girl I was talking to...was SADE!!  Imagine my surprise when she took to the stage! She teased me later! LOVELY, LOVELY young woman. Oh, and Bonnie Tyler, ('total Eclipse of the Heart') is one of my old neighbours! I'm from Swansea, Wales, she lived in the same street as myself, again, a lovely woman, friendly, open and chatty: she just sold a GOLD Record in France, at the age of 75!!   cheers from an old Welshman in Brunei.

There's a lot of bad things that came out of the British Empire, but one great thing was the diversity of cultures that it brought to the UK. People like Sade, Billy Ocean, Eddie Grant have their heritage in Nigeria, Antigua, Jamaica etc but they all came to the UK and brought their cultural influence to British music. Freddie Mercury, maybe the most iconic front man in British history was was born in Tanzania to Indian parents.

All British people recognise their own

I think the reason for the accent sounding American for a lot of artists is because back in the day the US was a much bigger music market and the goal was to "crack the American market" (like the british invasion in the 60s) for many artists. Because of this, they tailored their singing accent, some unconsciously, to the bigger market they wanted to appeal to most. The accent just became a byproduct of that and now it's a more universally recognised singing style that has pervaded the scene until this day 😅

We're a creative bunch. Everything from the industrial revolution to some of greatest writers and artists on the planet. Our brains never switch off.....unless we're stoned.
✌️❤️🇬🇧

It’s really, really, REALLY hard not to be arrogant about British music especially the 60s and 80s invasions.

Love this reaction. Much appreciated.
