I go into the office once a week. It used to be Friday.
Now it's Monday — and honestly, that changes everything.

8:10am, Umeda Station. First stop: an ATM,
because the curry shop I'm heading to only takes cash.

Breakfast is a standing curry counter inside the ticket gates.
Beef tongue curry, ¥950 ($5.94), free toppings,
and a whole station's worth of people walking past while I eat.

Then the Midosuji Line at rush hour, a lunch break spent in the rain
because our office has no windows, and a 7-Eleven bag carried back to my desk.

Someone asked me if it's true you can't leave before your boss in Japan.
I answer that one properly today — the honest version.

I closed my laptop at 8:15pm. I got home at 9:35pm.
There was no frozen rice left, so dinner happened just before 11.

One office day a week. Somehow it fills the whole day.

Is Monday or Friday worse for you?
