Man, I hope for a proper Umbrella Academy adaptation in form of The Animated Series.

Fun Fact: At the time of writing Umbrella Academy, Gerard saw nothing wrong with the sibling romances, using the argument of them not being blood related as it being ok. He later looked back at that thought process and said something along the lines of "i was a fucking idiot"

Tbh the first two seasons were fire, then it kinda felt like they were just throwing darts at a wall

I actually think the Sparrows work great as a cliffhanger and enemy. They built as the "perfect" Umbrella Academy, and are therefore more "normal": They all wear the same uniform that is clearly inspired by the X-Men's original uniform, which plays of the Doom Patrol/X-Men link, and can quickly handle the Umbrella's mistakes. Yet there's still clearly trouble within the group, just more hidden.

Umbrella academy would work as a animated series then live action adaptation in my opinion

When they´re slandering your goat´s work but they´re lowkey right💔

I genuinely had no idea Umbrella Academy was linked to MCR

Gerald Way is such an icon, I hope he goes back to making comics in the future

I had an ex who really liked UE so I gave it a shot because I love comics and was glad to be dating someone who liked a comic. That being said, the story was very wandering and confused but the art was awesome.

Since you’re talking about Gerard’s stuff should totally talk about the Young Animal imprint it was honestly such an interesting time for DC

FINALLY! An in-depth analysis on the Umbrella Academy comic

Don't get me wrong I love the show but I don't really like the fact that everyone entirely forgot about the comic when the show came out, the comic is bloody brilliant as well

Ngl, my immediate thought upon seeing the thumbnail is “Absolute Laios”

the first 2 seasons were so good.

The first 2 seasons is the best version of the story in my opinion

My first gf loved My Chemical Romance, so years later when I found out he was doing comics I picked it up out of spite. Turns out he's actually really good, but your right about the story. It's majorly carried by a dope art style.

I’m a die hard MCR fan but I’ve always had a ‘oh that’s nice’ attitude to Gerard’s comics, which it feels horrible to say but, Gerard is great at designing really cool visually striking character designs and concepts for worlds, never been great at dialogue or plot, Rock Opera is the perfect medium for him, comics (at least as a writer) aren’t

I'm gonna say this as someone who read all of the comics at some points when reading it the writing can feel overwhelming and at some points feel like it needs some breathing room. Especially hotel oblivion. Now for the new run it feels very different and has a more straight to the point feel. Also a problem with gerard creating a new world is that he doesn't have a proper plan for the world and adds in things that might not make sense, while also not properly expanding some points of the world.

Me and my brother are huge Umbrella Academy fans, mainly for the Netflix show but we ended up loving the comic too. I still do hope to see an Animated Series that adapts faithfully the comic than the live action show did because is Incredible.

Umbrella academy is and always has been complete crack. And I feel like it’s downfall was that at every point it was either a bit too much or a bit too little crack.

Been here since the manga log era love to see you’re still cooking mate
