I love how grown men are never infantilizing themselves by engaging in fantasy football, playing Dungeons & Dragons, or retreating to their man cave to play video games. If anything, when they do, women get blamed as the root cause of all their problems.

"Childish" is one of those insults that doesn't actually work very well as an insult, because it implies adulthood needs to be boring and adults are only "allowed" to enjoy a narrow selection of things. Kids have it right a lot of the time - dinosaurs are cool, unicorns would make amazing pets, tide pools are super exciting, HOLY SHIT IS THAT AN OWL, the list goes on.

So interesting that “acting like a child” is seen as such a negative thing as if we weren’t all children before… Men are just jealous that the system they created is keeping them from experiencing the whimsy and joy that women can find in these little fun things and it’s so obnoxious. Go to therapy, buy a bag charm, and stop blaming everything on women.

I think women refusing to grow up could also be an act of rebellion, considering how girls are always expected to ‘mature’ more quickly than boys, and refusing to do that seems to me like an act of rebellion against the expectations of women always being a mother-like figure to others. If boys will be boys, why can’t girls be girls?

Why men nowadays just can't leave women to their own femininity? They're not us, yet they're telling us what femininity is. They continue to live in their boyhood into adulthood, but they find it strange when we live in our girlhood as women. It's a total double standard.
