Darwinism vs Creationism: A Debate On Truth & Evolution with Wendy Wright

The Poetry of Reality with Richard Dawkins

This episode features me in direct debate with Christian political conservative Wendy Wright. We talk about teaching evolution in schools, the "controversy" it poses for religious conservatives, about the evidence-base, truth and intolerance towards differences.
She brings up dogmatism in the scientific community, and I push back about enabled ignorance in her own, while we share a mutual desire for human altruism and empathy.

Never argue with anyone in private (you will not convince them), argue in public to convince others.

Dawkins has the patience of a Saint. Ironically.

This wasn’t a debate. This is what happens when education meets ignorance.

Her patronizing smile and laughter, contrast radically with her impervious hearing. Dawkins deserves a medal for his patience.

Every time she says, "Cree-ay-TOUR," I cringe. Lol

How Richard made it through the debate without asking if she was dropped on her head at birth baffles me

The random smiles mid conversation for no real reason is horrifying

It always makes me giggle when Christians call scientists closed minded 😂😂😂😂

My dog believes no god, follows no religion and doesn't read any scripture but she knows to love unconditionally and show compassion.

A creationist does not ask what the evidence reveals; he asks how the evidence can be made to serve what he already believes.

She wants evidence for evolution, but she doesn't need evidence for religion.

This might be the video that single handedly started the new atheist movement

Absolutely amazing, the lights are clearly on but there is certainly no one home!

Even if evolution was found to be false…creationism does not win by default.

Delightful example of smiling hostility.

This was like listening to the ramblings of a sovereign citizen at a traffic stop, where the cop (played by Dawkins) endures countless assertions that "we aren't driving, we're traveling, I'm not engaged in commerce, I don't need a license to travel" being uttered by the person behind the wheel. If you haven't watched those police encounters, check them out, they're hilarious.
