Morality and truth do NOT need religion. They stand on their own.

The irony of George Pell pushing a line of 'goodness' given the allegations against him in particular around abuse coverups et al. The audience is utterly embarrassing and biased as well. Q&A should have done better. "I dont say what I dont mean" - whilst hiding from allegations and question in the Vatican wasting money in a higher office. Utter hypocrite.

I'm 77 and have been an Atheist for about the last 50 years. It seems to me that the main idea behind Christianity is to make people feel guilty for simply existing. Actually, it was the Bible that convinced to abandon religion. I read a verse about putting away childish things, and that's exactly what I did. No regrets whatsoever. Peace and love to all from S. According to George Pell's Wiki article: "In 2018, Pell was convicted of sexually abusing a boy in Melbourne in the 1990s, and served 404 days in prison, much of it in solitary confinement. On appeal the convictions were quashed and Pell acquitted in 2020 by the High Court of Australia in the decision Pell v The Queen. A separate investigation by the Holy See's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith into these allegations of abuse was concluded upon his acquittal by the High Court.  In 2025 it was announced that the National Redress Scheme, a non-judicial program, had accepted that Pell had sexually abused two boys in Ballarat in the 1970s, with compensation paid to one of those boys five weeks prior to Pell's death.

According to findings released by Australia's Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in 2020, Pell knew of child sexual abuse by clergy by the 1970s but did not take adequate action to address it. Pell said he was "surprised" and that the royal commission's findings "are not supported by evidence."

Dawkins, is very intelligent for pointing out the right questions rather than fantasy questions.
