This was a double vinyl album, and when you opened it up, the inside was an amazing panoramic painting of the inside of the spaceship. I loved CD's when they came out (no skipping and stuck needles!), but I always missed those big album covers with amazing art and photos.

Jeff Lynne is a musical genius, both as a musician and producer. An absolutely underrated and underappreciated genius.

The Electric Light Orchestra's albums represent the pinnacle of analog mixing without automation. Their doubling techniques, delay synchronization, and filter frequency sweeps are flawless and clearly the result of extensive work and experimentation.
Jeff Lynne is a fundamental musician, both as a composer and as a seeker of new sonic horizons.

The end of Turned to Stone, a homage to the end of A Day in the Live, Beatles. Old enough to connect the dots. Thanks for listening and appreciating.

ELO, and Jeff Lynne, is the most underrated artist of all time, and one of the greatest of all time.

Because I could write a novel here, I will restrain myself and say... I can't think of another band that can lift my spirits instantly like ELO. It's a MOOD. It's joy and brilliance captured in a bottle together - what human can remain downtrodden while listening to Mr. Blue Sky?!

ELO is a producer's dream. Glad you were able to finally discover Jeff Lynne.

ELO is such a great, innovative band. The leader, Jeff Lynne, was a good friend with George Harrison and actually formed the supergroup, Traveling WIlburys with Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty in the late 80s.

Kelly Groucutt's vocal contributions to ELO were very underappreciated, in my humble opinion.

Believe Me Now is actually not the end of the side. It actually flows into the next song Steppin’ Out which ends the side.

Even if you don’t do it for the channel, check out their album A New World Record. My favorite album of all time and a masterpiece from top to bottom.

Got back into vinyl a few months ago. Put on my original copy of Out of the Blue for fun since it is one of my favorite record albums. My wife of over 40 years walked into the room with a look of surprise saying “Why did you never tell me about this record? I love it!”. Since then it’s been in heavy rotation in our casa.

ELO is both confusing and brilliant. You're constantly going 'what just happened' and then smiling at the genius of it.

Jungle was a dream. That's why it was weird. The alarm at the end was him waking up.

R.I.P., Richard Tandy (ELO keyboardist) :-(

You can't get bored with ELO. Everytime you think you know what the song is going to sound like they turn a corner and change it up

This album was just incredible when it first came out in 1977- it was just mind-blowingly awesome. The end orchestral chaos on the first track, "Turn to Stone" is a very reminiscent nod to the orchestral chaos on the Beatles "A Day in the Life". That and "Sweet Talkin' Woman' were massive radio hits. The album came with inner sleeves with printed lyrics, a fold out poster and a snap-together cardboard cutout of the ELO Spaceship. It was an incredible package.
