Love that style, so much more interesting than photorealism.  Still trying to train my brain to reject the urge to copy and obsess…

You do a broken and squiggly line and it is artful.  When I do a broken and squiggly line it looks like an error!  Love this piece of art!  Thanks.

I am seeing that the photo is merely a guide to help create your own original image...it doesnt have to copied in detail. I have to learn to be more free with it and not see the photo as something i have to duplicate as perfectly as i can. The photo is only a starting point.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO MR. LACHMAIR BECAUSE YOU MADE THIS U.S. MARINE WANT TO TRY OUT THE INK WITH WATER COLOR METHOD

You made an aged, old building look FABULOUS. Really like this. I started teaching myself to draw and paint (watercolours) last year and I have been using Seawhite of Brighton sketchbooks. Love those sketchbooks. I purchased my first moleskin watercolour sketch book a few months ago and used it for the first time yesterday. Lovely paper and the application of watercolours to the paper reacts differently to watercolour on cartridge paper. But yes beautiful art can be produced in any brand of sketchbook. It is the person behind the pen.
UK🇬🇧

The rain water drain is called a gutter in America, same as on the side of a road.

love this sketch and shows you don’t need expensive paper to produce amazing ink and wash art

Sometimes the rainwater guttering is called SPOUTING.  Brilliant en plein air sketch. Your simplification is wonderful. Thanks Martin

Eavestrough. A trough (pronounced TROFF) that lies below the eaves. Love the drawing. My brush pen ink isn’t 100% waterproof but the diffusion of ink adds to the effect. These are great exercises to do when time is limited and we all need practice. (I do, anyway!)

Fantastic! a very few people can do magic with colors and brushes!

Get the F out of here 20 minutes? I love it! ❤

Where I live, the piece that is on edge of roof is called a rain gutter.  Thank you for sharring.

Superb..

I’ve learnt that I don’t have enough darks in my sketches. ❤

Awesome video! I love how your tutorials seems  approachable enough to make me fully confident enough while your skill comes through enough to show me where I still need practice

Wonderful piece.

Martin I am ninety one tomorrow the tenth ..     I have panted in my job and even during my army days in  China /////////.during the last war  with the yanks sat next to me////////// they flew from the American air base at Burton wood ..........I was a.lad  at the time

Love the way you paint, love your style, love the way you make tutorials, love the skill to find charismatic places and sat in front of to paint them… THANKS, for sharing!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Love this one, Martin. I first started using stick pens and fountain pens to draw when I was about 13 years old (about 60 years ago -yikes!). I have always loved this medium, as well as watercolor, and really love your loose, artful portrayals of these old buildings. I'd love to see more of these types of sketches.

Thanks very much, Martin!! Your video's are very help full to me. I recently start sketching in your style and it gives me very much satisfaction. I have been suffering from Postcovid complaints for over a year, but since I started drawing it has given me a lot of peace of mind. I enjoy your video's and posts on Instagram. I regularly watch your videos and learn from them again and again. Greetings from Anton | The Netherlands.
