In this video, I test out a new 1000W mid drive e-bike kit that’s recently come onto the market – the ECCRIDE X1 Pro.

I partnered with ECCRIDE for this video, and they sent me the motor to test and review. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much at first, but it actually surprised me. The torque is strong, and it reaches a solid top speed of around 35mph, which is impressive for a setup at this price point.

At around £470, this kit offers a good balance between performance and cost. While hub motors can sometimes be cheaper and even faster, they’re not always ideal for aggressive riding or off-road use. Issues like hall sensor failures, snapped dropouts, and frequent punctures can become a problem over time.

This mid drive setup is much better suited for that kind of riding and can handle more demanding conditions while still being compatible with most bikes.

Build specs:
• 1000W ECCRIDE X1 Pro mid drive kit
• 52V 20Ah battery

If you’re considering an e-bike conversion and want something reliable for both road and off-road use, this is definitely one to look into.
