I like that the absence of Mewtwo and Lucario implies Nintendo didn't tell Sakurai that they were Pokemon. Like I can literally see him (them?) saying that they are from Fire Emblem of something.

>Pikachu
>Kirby 2.0 (but worse)
>Mewtwo
>Baby Pikachu that hurts itself
>Pokémon Trainer
>Lucario
>Greninja
>Incineroar

Lmao that anti-Pokémon Steve crafting table is an insane obstacle for completely stopping their dashing specials.

I was really wondering why the Steve bit near the end but then it made so much sense

Man, even Sakurai forgot that Lucario was in the game. Don’t blame him honestly.

"Hey, let's add Mewtwo to the game since it's REALLY popular!"

"ok, we'll make him have a giant hurtbox but also make him be one of the lightest characters in the game even though it's supposed to weigh like a hundred pounds kilos"

"...why are you like this"

"New Smash game, you know what that means?"

dont say fish dont say fish dont say fish

Nintendo: Actually, can you add one more Pokemon to Melee?
Sakurai: Nah, I don't wanna.
Nintendo: How about a character from Mother then?
Sakurai: Alright. Who?
Nintendo: Giegue, from Mother 1. Here's a picture of him!
Sakurai: Hmm... This kinda looks like that Mewtwo thing. Are you trying to trick me?
Nintendo: No...?
Sakurai: Alrighty, I'll get right on it.

I never knew they shadow buffed Steve in the Pokemon matchups that's diabolical

7:38 never noticed this and it makes me sad... I have to play so different around Steve as Charizard. Turns out it's just another pokemon punishment.

Sakurai being evil with Jack black with a crafting table, gives other characters attack options to go past the crafting table except for pokemon

Dawg that Greninja segment hurt

0:24 and then Pokken later came out generations later

Sakurai be acting like he doesnt do research on the pokemon but literally puts in a mechanic that is a direct replicant of pichu's Dex entry? I see you Sakurai 👀

It is official. Sakurai is jealous Pokémon is more popular than his Kirby.

Nintendo: so how about we add charmander bulbasaur and-
Sakurai: let’s add Kirby but with ears

2:10 Lol, He's like there's more of them?!

5:03 Bro skipped over Lucario completely 💀

6:49 Bowser

Sonic was only good when Sakurai found out he isn't a pokémon

7:30 pokemon was originally called pocket monsters, so sakurai technically isn’t wrong
