I love how Sakurai sounds less monotone and more upbeat like he’s younger and more happy about his creation

5 years later
"allright Sakurai, I need a new game, and you can make Kirby garbage again"
"Actually, I think I'll add a new Kirby character this time"
"oh, well that's cool-"
"and I want HIM to have the broken privelages :D "

Fun fact, when Sakurai had placeholder characters for the game Iwata was the one who suggested the use of nintendo characters but needed to ask permission first, that was rejected by nintendo but he lied to Sakurai telling him it was approved, he proceeded to make a demo and nintendo fell in love with it

Rare footage of the creation of a masterpiece and a legendary game.

It's ironic how some people say Sakurai is biased in favor of the Kirby franchise, yet it's one of the more underrepresented franchises in the Super Smash Bros. series thanks to Sakurai barely including material from Kirby games he didn't make.

1:50 “Wait, what happens if Kirby sucks off another Kirby?”
“…wait a minute…”
“Let’s just hope that never happens.” 💀💀💀

Its so wholesome how both of them apologize for once.
Nintendo apologizes for saying smash was bad idea & Sakurai apologize for making his baby OP

Sakurai: In order to compensate for his short range, I will give him the best D-Air in the game.

Kirby mains: Still sucks tho

@DirtyDan_534 2 years ago (edited)

Sakurai: "Kirby will suck up his opponent!"

Nintendo: "Theres gotta be a better way to word that"

Also Nintendo: "So what happens if he SUCKS OFF another kirby?"

"And by representing their game, I mean I'm going to design an entire moveset from the ground up for Fox and Captain Falcon because they're on foot."

The best part of this video is the reveal of Nintendo's legs. They looks so extremely out of place, it makes it the best joke in the video.

"Nintendo!"
"That's right. It's-a me."

No entry line is better than that

I appreciate the small detail that Nintendo doesn't wear pants. Whether it's because the camera doesn't pan below his waist and he doesn't bother to wear them or because he rushed over to Sakurai's house and either forgot to/didn't have time to put them on, it's funny either way.
