What one do you think is the worst? Did I miss any? Let me know below! 👇

So I guess the good old Correctional Custody Platoon is a thing of the past? I did about 23 days in it. It was supposed to be 30, but we got a new platoon commander, CWO 3 Ott. Awesome dude. He got me out early on the my promise that I'll stay out of trouble. He got me out, I stayed out of trouble. Gunner Ott, if you're out there, you were one of the best leaders I had. You and Major's Robinson and Sheridan.

Never forget- if your crime is also a civilian offense, you can be charged, tried, and punished all over again. Double jeopardy doesn't apply. And if the civvies get you first, you will be AWOL as well.

Before you even see the oath at MEPS, they tell you and make you acknowledge that the law says you can be put to death if you commit treason or desert during wartime. It's crazy to me that people still play around like breaking the law is a game when you're government property.

Hey, memories memories!! Yes I got me one of those first punishments; one of those enjoyable art.15 in the army; got 14 days the hard labor or Extra duty we call it and 14 days restrictions, car keys removed and “confinement” or restricted movement to my barracks and mess hall area; but I survived and reinforced my discipline so it was healthy and well deserved 😉 oh yes, mine came with counseling so I did had to kiss goodbye my good conduct medal…

In my day, in the Navy at sea, the Captain could give you three days bread and water on top of everything else at Captain’s Mast

I have a friend who got a DUI and went from E4 to E3 and he made E5 within the next 2 years.

Had a buddy in another platoon film another guy in that platoon doing donuts (cookies, whatever) in the far end of the gravel parking lot of the whole Brigade's barracks. (Stewart when 4th Brigade occupied the trailers across the road from CIF) Sergeant Major saw it while driving past and said "You gon' learn today."  They got 14/14 and spent their waking hours not on duty in full battle rattle in the Georgia summer sun, each  bent over with a 24" wide 2x4, smoothing the gravel of that parking lot. One of them did in fact learn. The other eventually went AWOL.

I just got NJP’d… 45 days restriction + 45 days EPD… and now I’m listening to this… thanks 🙏 for reminding me that this sucks…

When myself and an NCO got extra duty from a summarized article 15, we had to stay till 2350 every Day for 2 weeks and clean the company. The funny thing was the army has to provide you the materials to complete that task. They wanted me to buff the floors and mop everyday and the NCO supervised. We had none of that except some simple green and a mop so we mostly just hung out until midnight.

My guy Dave, I appreciate your videos honestly as a 17 yro future marine I feel confident in going to the marines and do the shit I need to do and be successful when I come out. I won’t forget you man, keep up them videos brother💪

I'm going to be joining the army in about a year and a half and your channel has really helped me with my studying and research  ❤

During my time in the military, I came close to being slapped with an Article 15 and an Article 92. Both times the NCOs decided that they didn’t want to deal with the paperwork and headaches and instead decided to issue counseling statements instead. I considered myself lucky that the NCOs hated paperwork and didn’t want to screw over my career

Charleston SC had a restriction brig, I had to escort several people there when I was working transportation at SubGru6 even escorting 2 deserters that I had to pick up at the airport and drop them off at the brig.

Military prison is no joke.  I had a Company First Sergeant who was involved in handing over one of our Joes into the military disciplinary system after he f-ed up.  Top was a Drill Sergeant and told me the 31E Detention Specialists were like Drill Sergeants x10.  Imagine getting a life sentence at Leavenworth and spending your life in the most extreme version of BCT/BMT/Boot Camp imaginable with no breaks.  Ugh!

There is no embarrassment like being that guy with a sleeve full of hash and a single chevron on you shoulder, I knew that guy. I got special PT with NAVY seals at the end of the day for having a walkman on, not paying attention to my surroundings when the C/O came in I didn't pop too, 🙄  so I got a chit pulled, it was the hardest PT ever, guys were puking and pissing their selves, my take away was they really were taking it easy on us and it should be a little harder for those that can.

Knew a guy who went from SSgt to Pvt, and when I met him he was a Cpl with 5 hash marks on his uniform. His initials were PAH. We called him Pa. He was the old salt of the company, and our sea lawyer when we had questions about the UCMJ. Have a question, go ask "Pa". Rumor was he lost his rank for shooting a Vietnamese refugee with a 50Cal that was pointing a gun at people on board an evacuation ship. Me? I got 45 days voluntary restriction to barracks once for showing up an hour late for morning formation. The restriction was a choice of that or Office Hours and loss of my secret clearance for 2311 MOS training, and sent to 0311 school.

I earned 5 NJP’s and I requested Captain’s Mast once. I was busted down two different times. I also spent 30 days in CCU(Correctional Custody Unit) in Pensacola and did 3 day bread and water on CVN 70. I retired as a GMC Gunners Mate Chief/ E-7 in 2021.

Keep in mind, often at squad, platoon or even company levels, you will get opportunities to do Extra Duty off the books.  You did something against rules, you got caught and an unofficial write up can happen…then a punishment that stays off the books is implemented.

Typically, the accused, if they actually did the crime, will not fight it.  There are plenty of veterans and those serving today who have and are doing “Extra duty” but keeping it from being documented.

The only two disciplines I saw for myself in the USN were correctional custody (in boot) and EMI (extramilitary instruction.)
