This is the guy from Final Fantasy Union. Great to see he's doing stuff for Dragon Quest as well.

i never get tired of listening to british guys talk about video games.

Dragon warrior was the NES game that taught me to level up before crossing bridges or not leaving the area around the town till I have the best armor the town sells.

acoustic xenogears music hitting

I did not know that Horii was born in Awaji Island.  It would explain why there is so much Dragon Quest stuff here.  I hope to bump into him one day and talk about his games.

yo, I love how THOROUGH your videos are. You make sure to cover all the details, it reminds me of research I used to do to write articles about this stuff. But you get it ALL. Subscribed, and please continue recording the histories you seem to cherish as I do.

Darryl covering Dragon Quest I used to pray for times like this let’s goooooo

Perfect timing, I've just started to get into the Dragon Quest series. Can't wait to make it my latest obsession!

So pleased you’ve been able to launch this channel! I really love the way you and your team present this sort of content 🎉

I loved Dragon Warrior when I was a kid. And the Dragon Quest 1 2D-HD remake turned out to be the Dragon Quest I imagined I was playing when I was a kid. It is a truly remarkable remake

I learned to read from playing Dragon Warrior as a kid. Growing up it was my first rpg and I loved watching my mom play it.

This is a very deep video for Dragon Quest's origin story.

jeez that xenogears music in chap1 hit me with heavy nostalgia. flooded with memories suddenly

They knew what they were doing with the box art change. I was kid when it came out. Every kid I knew was instantly in love with that box art. It sparked imagination that drove through the game.

the music made me forget this was a video about dragon quest and now I want to recruit people into my liberation army

I hope your youtube journey is putting food on the table. Still you brought a few new details to the tale I didn't know before so worth the watch.

Really insane depth in this guys videos.  Very enjoyable.

What a wonderful video!

Big fan of Dragon Quest and it was fascinating to learn more about the history of the early days and how it came to be.

I love the style of video - particularly the great writing and beautiful accompanying music you featured!

Looking forward to more videos from you and would love to learn more about Dragon Quest's history and impact - in particular would love to hear more about how DQ 3 was received alongside it's history in more detail, and how DQ 8 was able to really break through in the west!

Thank you again for this :)

This video was incredible. I’m an enormous DQ fan, but even I didn’t know some of the stuff that happened to the creators before it got started.
