Thank you all so much for the support with this new endeavour. It's only been a few months since the channel launched, but it's been great to see how much the core premise of our content has resonated with people. We hope to share our plans for Season II in the new year, but for now, we hope you enjoy this extra-long episode on Pokémon Red/Blue. And if you'd like to help choose what our "Out of Sequence" episode is next season, don't forget to join up over on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/cw/Datalog ~Darryl

I love how they put so much effort into the front facing sprites and then from behind they just look like a melted sundae.

One thing I really appreciate about this series is that you go in-depth to the prehistory of the games.

I was 4 years old when I got Pokemon Blue for Christmas. This was my very video game ever. So many great memories. This game was so full of life, adventure, mystery, and love. Imo when you play a game you feel how much love a developer put into the game and they did everything they could.
You can tell they put their entire heart & soul into this game and you felt that. They quite literally almost sacrificed everything for this and was massively rewarded for those sacrifices, i really love that. I miss when gamefreak was actually hungry for it but unfortunately those days are long gone. 😢

The History of Pokemon Red/Blue

"It started with a bang, over 13 billion years ago..."

I had blue as a kid when pokemania was first taking form and when it peaked. Times were different than now. Old Nintendo was the ultimate kids toy obsession and frenzy.

It's nice to have a positive video on Pokemon for a change

This is phenomenal. One of my new favorite channels, rooting for yall.

we need a 6 hour version of this actually 😭

"...and even Parappa the Rappa..."

Finally some recognition for that King.

Me and my brothers had blue and red and enough game boys and link cables to all get 150. The super game boy was a game changer for us - most of the time, we played Pokemon as a standard console game 😂

23:22 Trivia: the man on the left was the basis for Snorlax

Hope everyone's doing well and doing their best to keep stress down this holiday season! Thanks for the video!

One of the most iconic video games of all time.

Merry christmas and thank you for your awesome work!
Love them all!

I got Pokemon Blue for xmas when I was 11, and that was the game which really ignited my love for video games. I still remember pouring over the guide and being amazed by it all.

It was more than a game, show, or cards, but a brighter fold of reality within which you had personal freedoms & a means to relate to everyone. Pokemon cards were a currency on the playground, with more sway than dollars--I even traded a stack of cards for a copy of pokemon silver version.

I remember getting one of those Pokemon VHSs in the mail and become immediately HOOKED on it. I was obsessed with pokemon when I was younger. Such amazing memories~

I have to watch this propably after christmas. But hey.
Merry Christmas everybody 🎉🎅🏻
