I remember hearing in one of your videos a while ago you got laid off and were putting more time into this…. Prolly right before you started this channel. I hope everything is going good for you and I appreciate your videos a lot

Having played Earthbound as a pre-teen/early teen, the Spielberg ref makes total sense, kudos to you all! :D

Saw a Mother documentary just came out from a channel that is new to me, so I came running. Wonderful memories with these games.

Okay, who is in charge of the music? Hitting me with Wild ARMs, Illusion of Gaia, and then Luna's boat song? You can't beat someone that hard with a nostalgia hammer!

Sorry for the Google translation.

12:35 I was so happy to see Eikichi Yazawa mentioned in Shigesato Itoi's explanation that I wanted to comment.

I believe that the most influential work Shigesato Itoi has done is Eikichi Yazawa's autobiography.

Many people became artists pursuing their dreams because of the autobiography.

Eikichi Onizuka from GTO and Josuke Higashikata from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure are modeled after Eikichi Yazawa.

The catchphrase "Great" and that hairstyle were popularized by Yazawa.

Shigesato Itoi and Eikichi Yazawa regularly have conversations, and what Yazawa says is the complete opposite of his appearance; it's philosophical like a high-ranking monk,
like the Marilyn Manson interview in the movie Bowling for Columbine (lol).

I continue to watch the videos to see if they introduce any more information that is unknown outside of Japan.

The Mother series needs a collection release and a remake release, all translated for NA too

I rarely ever find it necessary to feel like I want or need to comment on any youtube videos, but sincerely you guys are very quickly becoming one of my top 3 favorite channels on the site. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next video 👍👍

I worked in a mom-and-pop video game store years back and I was fortunate enough to actually get to hold one of those English earthbound NES cartridges, collector really seemed to get a kick out of blowing people's minds!

i cry a little not gonna lie, your quality is top notch would recommend do a physical/digital version of a collection of your videos add like interactive menus etc not gonna lie he would be a unique product

You deserve more views

41:22 Wow, I forgot about those scratch and sniff pages in gaming magazines!

After watching your Phantasy Star video, this channel has quickly become one of my favorites. Thanks for making such well crafted, informative documentaries.

This video was just incredibly sweet.  I have always been interested in the mother series, but learning about the production here and he emotions behind it have really made it just that much more special to me.  Thanks for the content.

Your choice of ending with a song from Undertale hits extra hard, given Mother/Earthbound’s deep entrenchment with the history of Undertale, and Toby Fox’s gaming journey overall. I heard that familiar tune and IMMEDIATELY I was back in that little game :’)

Wonderful video!

This was a thoughtful and highly engaging video. You did a wonderful job Daryl, Colin, and Chris. I knew 0 about the Mother series and found a deep appreciation for it.

I’d love an Earthbound/Mother remastered collection.

Murasame castle devlopper did worked on Mother. I never knew that.
