The glide meter is not how much longer you have to glide, it indicates the amount of boost you get when you land. Basically being in the air builds charge and that charge is realeased when you land parrallel to the ground.

This sounds extremely obvious to us veterans, but I'm finding most new players dont realize they can zoom out at the beginning of city trial. Just hold the right stick back and it'll give you a much higher FOV. Its essential in city trial and will give the feeling of more control when you start moving faster.

I might be wrong about this, but using quick spin also gives you some invincibility frames, which can reduce or nullify damage on some occasions.

Speaking as someone who didn’t play at the original, but was interested enough to watch both of the directs and play the test ride so much of this video was incredibly helpful to me since I was effectively going in blind outside of doing the tutorial because sure it’s one thing to watch gameplay of air riders. It’s another thing to actually play it and attempt to win city trial with very little experience. which I did actually do even managed to win Oval circuit at the very end of the test ride, which I was incredibly proud of even if I’ve seen people with way faster times on that than me the test ride absolutely sold me. I can’t wait to play this game.

I’m so incredibly excited for this game, it’s an absolute dream come true, and like most of my dreams, it has gooey in it!

The sheer amount of joy i felt seeing and hearing this game coming back...
Im very happy. Yet to play it, but if it's anything like the first game. I know I am going to love it.

Good voice. Good editing. Great passion. Keep it up champ!

I hope this game end up having Super Smash Bros levels of success. 💪

13:00 this is also extremely important to understand for city trials Distance Flight and High Jump.

I kind of understand why they changed the fact that boost pads work all the time for all vehicles but it was cute to boost charge in rhythm on boost panels with stars. It will make some of the returning tracks a bit dull as a result but it's not a huge deal and I understand the change I'm sure a lot of people thought it was buggy.

The boost panel change is welcomed for me, but It's going to take me a while to NOT tap A when going over a boost lmao. I'm still in awe that we're even getting an Air Ride sequel. I'm so incredibly hyped for this game and i'm glad others are too! With that being said, this is great video! Very informative and helpful.

9:13 actually, the input was always a left-right movement! this is something common i've seen people do, and i wonder if that's how the original air ride explained it? if so, very odd...
edit: also, now you can quick spin in the air! this was technically possible in the original, but only in a very specific glitch state, so it's very cool to see it as a real mechanic here

ngl even back in air ride 1 i didnt know abt charge dropping at all but its helpful to be learning abt it now for when i eventually get this game for the switch 2 i totally have yet

So happy you’re so thrilled! Im excited too and i never owned the first one

great video!

As someone who played and loved the original I'm HYPE about this. It's the only thing making me buy a switch.

I actually don't like the boost panel change, I think it makes the bikes less distinct and useful. They feel pretty outclassed by the Chariots and Tanks, and already felt kinda iffy in the first game

Thank you so much for the guide!

I plan to make a lot of videos on this game but I really wouldn’t know where to start on how to play aside from Smash Bros. and Mario Kart.

Additionally, the songs you chose to use in the video reveal a surprising depth of Kirby knowledge! I think that’s just neat.

I've seen bits and bobs of the Kirby Air Ride franchise and simply commented "huh, that's neat, looks like it's difficult to control though!" and dismissed it. This introduction was exactly what I needed going into two, so thanks! Left a like and a sub.
