It was only a matter of time until goobers started work on removing every bit of fun by over analyzing the game

I forgot about the Tank Star, but ironically its most notable qualities besides it controlling like the Bull Tank and Swerve Star is that it hits the exact averages of all stars across the board except for its glide stats, which it does not do well in.

I think it's worth noting that the tank star and bull tank both have the distinction of immediately stopping on a hard brake. This makes them unexpectedly good at gourmet race and button rush.

Tank Star: "Am I a joke to you?"

It's honestly pretty fun abusing the boost on Turbo if you can get the hang of it

This is a ton of good info

Fun fact for the hop star: if you want to do a regular quick spin, just make sure the boost button is pressed at the same time as the quick spin input. This means hop stars actually have two options for quick spinning, tho idk how good the regular one is compared to the jump slam lol

Did you forget to talk about the Tank star?

I also want to add a caveat for the paper Star, in that while it is a very good utility vehicle it is absolutely god awful as a first pick vehicle for gathering. Any form of weight, even +2 weight will destroy any height gain you’ll get from it and you’d have to grab more glide to compensate. If you plan to use Paper star you gotta actively avoid weight as much as possible if you want to get to the sky garden and sky islands as fast as possible. This makes you even more fragile since weight is the generalist stat and reducing Ram damage does matter when you’re in a 16 player lobby. Only use the paper star depending on what layout is spawned for the City, it works best when you get the star tower layout where a treasure star is on the city as well as the treasure star event and dash ring event. Otherwise you’re better off wheelie scootering all over the place for gathering maneuverability since while it’s frail it’s not as frail and can at least eat more than 1 stray hit. Imo once you get around 7-9 glide and turn you can replace paper Star with Wing or Warp Star if you still want decent aerial maneuverability with more survivability.

One thing I don't see anybody talking about (which, probably a good thing for me) is that it feels like Vampire Star is the best machine for snatching a legendary machine part out of someone, especially if you have a part yourself, with how easy it is to land a hit on a player (I find you don't necessarily need a strong combat machine to steal a part, you just need to land a hit). Similarly, I feel like Vampire Star is your ONLY option if the person with the part is that one coward on a Paper Star who grabs a part then takes to the skies to make sure nobody else gets it (which I managed to steal from him anyway, which was a glorious moment in my city trial career lol)

Formula cars actually turn very well in real life.

finally, some good fucking air riders guides

You're the most knowledgable player on Air Riders right now, way past Versalis and M2K. Thanks for your insightful content! I hope you won't mind if I ask you questions in the future. Having fun testing the game alongside you.

I am really struggling to find technical or competitive content about this game for some reason, so this is great!

Would love a character tier list too, or maybe a best combos for each event type video.

This video tells me which have the highest top speeds but not exactly what’s best for a race, like I assume the wheelie scooter is pretty good for races despite not having high top speed compared to formula or rex wheelie?

The vampire star is so fun to play in city trials
Just munch everything and zoom around everywhere

Not too fun in air ride, munching people is difficult and once they are gone, you can't catch up

Exactly the kind of video I've been looking for since this game came out

The wheelie scooter was BUGGED on GameCube? I remember having so much fun as a kid using the absurd jump height it had, and I was so disappointed to see my boy nerfed this game. :(

Nobody is forcing me to make a comfy nostalgic game from my childhood into a sweaty competitive slopfest... And yet...

I feel called out with the Shadow Star 😭

The thing you said about its users having an addiction to it is so true
