Please do The Open Door next!!! My absolute favourite Evanescence's album <3

Classic. Back when this came out, my mother was doing some treatment with her dentist, and she would have regular appointments. I went with her, and the waiting room had a sound system and a bunch of CDs, which her dentist let me use while I waited for my mom to have her treatment. She had this album there, which she said was a gift from a patient of hers, and I would listen to it every single time I went there. She saw that I loved the album so much, that she gave it to me, she said I would listen to it a lot more than she would. I would sit with the booklet in hand and listen to the album countless times, after a while I knew all the lyrics by heart, start to finish.

To this day I think this is an amazing album, full of great melodies and hooks.

That transition between Tourniquet and Imaginary is just as spine tingling today as it was 23 years ago!

What I reeaaaally love with the video in everybody's fool is at the end of the video when she is at the balcony and is watching at the big picture of her fake ''self'' and sings ''you're not real and you can't save me''. I have always loved that song and video so much.

I’m a GIANT Taking Over Me fan. It’s one of my top favorite Evanescence songs. I think what makes it super unique is just how passionate it is. I think it could be argued that Amy’s delivery in that song in particular is one of the most passionate songs she’s ever sang. But that’s just my opinion. This album changed my life in 2003.

Missing isn't just a song; it's a feeling

THANK YOU for recognizing Missing. It took me a while, but I have listened to this constantly recently.

you deserve more subscribers, I love your reviews!

It's cool that you liked the whole album

It's great that you think Missing is underrated because is one of my favourites as well.  Here in Spain was played a lot on the radio around 2004-2005 , and I'd even dare to say it was more famous than Going Under, Call me when you are sober and even My Immortal.

Amy has an amazing and unique voice. She belts those Bs, Cs and Ds with a natural power that takes quite some time to master, yet her voice is gentle and breathy, and still can get very low, such a treat for the ears (in studio versions xd)
I love this album, bridges of the songs are soooo good, that even if a song is not you favourite, it still grips you attention. Amy's vocal harmonies are also something I love, and the fact that auxiliary vocal lines aren't lost in the background add so much to the listening experience. I also love the combination of a rock instrument set with real piano and strings and choir.

I don't know why but "Taking over me" hits different

Amy - 'My soul cries for Deliverance!'
Mikael Akerfeldt - 'I got you sister'
Edit: that transition from Tourniquet to Imaginary is my favorite part of the album

I loved this video so much! Fallen is such a great album and I only heard it in its full 2 months ago but it's really taken over me. ☺️

Yeah, they still do Whisper live! I actually think its one of the best live songs. It works so well, its heavier and darker than the album version

I remember all the struggles that came with the making of this album but they came in strong! Real strings were required even when the label didn’t want to because of the cost. AND Amy designed her outfits from the get go.

Evanescence led me to discover Epica which is my favorite band of all time. Recently I’ve been listening to the open door a lot! I feel like I didn’t get that album back then and now I really enjoy it.

Everybody's Fool is a great iconic song ❤ I love the theme and it's so essential to the band's presentation. Also, did you mention that the strings from the bridge of Imaginary are the same as the outro of Tourniquet? It's mindblowing.

Thank you so much for covering my favorite band! Great journey. Looking forward to your coverage of all the other albums...
