“Is this normal for a DM” girl that aint normal for a person 😭

My partner sent me this and I was surprised it made it here. I’m the Eris in this story (fake name, obviously). It happened over a year and a half, and I adored the other players. I’ve seen a few comments underneath asking why my partner didn’t defend me- it’s because I defended myself. Any time a woman joke came up, I’d fight the NPCs for my own honour. I confronted the DM as well after all of this with confirmation I wasn’t being crazy. I am on the spectrum and I’m often told I overreact, so I wanted to handle this delicately otherwise I could have lost the friends I made during the shit show :) it’s nice to see everyone being so kind about it though

"Pregnant by her ghost ancestors"

What in the sweet home alabama?

Ah yes, everyone's favourite genre of D&D horror story: DM's Barely Disguised Fetish

"Pregnant by her ghost ancestors."
Me: What in the Hapsburg Royal Family or Game Of Thrones is this?!

To be fair, even if he was a normal DM and it started leaking in the real world, that would be a red flag in a half

"your character now has ADHD. Every mental check now has randomly decided advantage or disadvantage" sounds fun honestly. Can't wait to completely miss information an npc just told me only to perfectly remember and act upon it 8 sessions later

The DM is forcing his fetish fuel into the campaign and is also trying to socially manipulate the group. This is toxic in SO many ways.

The guy literally tried to play the "See ? I'm so much better than your boyfriend, you should dump him and be with me, clearly I would make you a happy pregnant trad wife !" ...
He never cared about D&D, he just used it as an excuse to try to break the couple to force her to get with him...

"I can excuse the pregnancy fetish, but I draw the line at spreading rumors."

"You can excuse the pregnancy fetish?"

And i thought i was an Ahole DM when i made the bard role on impregnation when he kept sleeping with every NPC with a pulse (and some things without a pulse}. At the end all his baby mommas found him and started wanting child support.

This man needs to be put on a watchlist. I'm serious, this behavior is BEYOND normal and if he takes this a step beyond DND, someone is going to get hurt.

He made the character miscarry… THEN PUNISHED HER!? That is monstrous.

Sounds to me like the DM tries to force his kink on the players, has a crush on Eris and a sexist view of what a woman should and shouldn't do. All of that in combination makes for a true nightmare.

Bruh having a player character's ancestors stare disapprovingly, take their horns, and brand you with a message for every member of your race that says "end on site" is insane 💀

I love looking back at these types of stories where it’s like “is this normal DM behavior? I’m still new to DnD” and in the post they tell OP some shit like “okay, so, your character has to kill FIVE puppies, or else every time you beat an encounter you have to make out with me, also if you kill the puppies you have to date me for two years”

The thing you aren't even addressing, is that the DM is sexist as hell. He hyper fixated on benching her constantly into "female" tasks, making sure she doesn't get to go into combat...it's just a whole other layer of effin' grossness. Blech. The whole thing makes me feel icky as hell.

Wait a minute, how did Eris' character, who according to the DM was no longer able to use her druidic magic, drown her husband with druidic magic?

DM can not force you and your characters to fit his sick fantasy. Best is to find another DM...or just become DM, avoid creeps.

My character lost an arm once, spent a session getting some materials and whatnot to basically get a winter soldier arm. Was pretty sick ngl
