I met Danny in 1993 in Nashville at the NAMM show. It gave me chills to watch this and remember how his playing made me feel. RIP...

One of the greatest guitar players ever, who never did get the recognition he deserved.

What a loss, talent like this only comes by every so often. Wish I was more aware of Danny while he was with us.

I had the great thrill and privilege of seeing Danny play at a little club in Vancouver. It is easily the most mind blowing display of musicianship I've ever seen both on a technical level and for pure feel and soul.We will not soon see another player so amazingly skilled and with such a broad knowledge of musical styles as Danny Gatton.

And a mere four years later Danny killed himself, leaving no explanation--not that there is ever a good reason to kill oneself. A tragic end to an incredibly talented and blessed man. Very sad, I have always been a huge fan of his playing.
