This is the Batman I grew up with. The batsuit, especially the batmobile.

I love that the guy they got to play the younger Jack Napier in the flashback, legit looks like he could be the Joker too!

Fact: Part of Jack Nicholson's deal was that he had to have top billing, lifetime royalties in exchange for a $6 million paycheck in lieu of his then-standard $10 million fee, and he had to have be allow to cut out at a certain time to make it to the tipoff for Laker's home games, which he's had courtside season passes for 40+ years.

The reason that superheroes had an affinity for newspapers (Superman worked at one as a reporter) was that in the 1930s they would be the first to know about emergencies thanks to the wire services.

Nicholson gives the best live action performance of the "Clown Prince of Crime" as he was/is in the comic books.

It's interesting, since this Joker is a lot sillier than the Ledger and Phoenix versions, but this Nicholson version is the guy I would least like to meet in a dark alley, because he super loves killing people-- I think this is the most homicidally insane version that's been on screen.

Michael Keaton was known for comedy roles like in Mr. Mom and Gung Ho. People were concerned that he couldn't be serious as Batman, but he pulled it off.

"I love that he's not wearing makeup." While he is completely covered in makeup. Lol

Love this Batman. Dark, but still basically a comic book.

What I love about Keaton’s take on Bruce Wayne is that he doesn’t know who is as Bruce Wayne. Hints his awkwardness cause Bruce is his “mask”.

It wasn't the Batman we wanted, it was the Batman we deserved

Nicholson loved this role so much he was angry at Nolan for not calling him to reprise his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight 20 years later.

The hype for this movie was insane, Batman movie posters everywhere

This is my favorite Batman movie. Jack is SO unhinged he steals Every scene he's in.

4:05. DID YOU KNOW....BILLY DEE WILLIAMS wasn't the only classic STAR WARS actor in this movie.
4:51 WILLIAM HOOTKINS, who plays Lt. Eckhardt, also played "Porkins", the Rebels' first casualty in the battle of the first Death Star.

its probably difficult for people who didn't see this the first time around to understand how massive and mind blowing this was, before this the only thing you had on tv or a tv movie was the holy crimewave, purple satin cape and more cheese than you could eat!
then unfortunately it went back to cheese.

5:00 That's Porkins from Star Wars with a redubbed voice.

Casting Keaton as Wayne/Batman caused a big uproar. Keaton was known for his stand-up comedy and the movie Mr. Mom. People were saying "Mr. Mom is Batman?!" He proved himself.

Casting Nicholson as Joker was huge and the marketing hype for this was massive.
