@KitsukiiPlays 1 year ago

“I’m not broken. I’m still a good duck” became my everyday motivation

I love that duck. I clicked, for the duck. Stayed for the snails.

2:30 and if you manage to somehow get yourself through all the hoops, they'll tell you: "you obviously don't need help, you were able to jump through the hoops just fine!" Even though getting through them was super hard and you're burned out now and need even more help than before...

i saw the cover image saying "THIS DUCK NEEDS TO BE STOPPED" and I was like "NOOO I LOVE THAT DUCK SO MUCH WHAT HAVE THEY DONE WRONG????" and then actually watched the video and read the title and it was amazing lol. I really love that duck, they explain a lot of things simply and actually as they are 😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️

That "I didn't miss that social cue, I just thought it was stupid"/"I picked up on the implication but want you to be direct" one. YES. Just, yes .

Now you need duck earrings. Not too big, not too flashy, not too weird. Just duck.

The duck channel has literally inspired me to make my first unity project (video game design engine)

It's called Smart Duck Simulator, where you solve cipher puzzles for Governor Goose.

I just told my Nana about my AUDHD diagnosis last weekend and she was actually really supportive of it! I wasn't sure what to expect, so I'm glad she was understanding and took it as a chance to learn!

Yas! No one else understands when I say humidity makes me feel like I am suffocating or drowning!

11:08 I love my friends but they always call me cute and innocent just because I’m nice and asexual. Just cause I don’t scream at people when I’m annoyed doesn’t mean I’m an angelic little bean.

Diplomaduck also made a short video on Audhd and it was mindblowing how close to my experience it was. I had to show it to my mom to explain how I feel with my diagnosis.

1:44 i had the opposite problem. i was the "smart kid" so every group project, no one else did any work and they put all their workloads onto me so i always had to do 100% of a group project even with other group members 💀💀 which worked out fine bc i got to ensure i got good grades on those group projects whereas if classmates had actually contributed, it wouldve significantly lowered my grade

the eternal struggle of preferring directness but youre too socially anxious to be as direct as you want to because that same directness itself is what led to your social anxiety in the first -- which frustrates people for being either too direct or too vague, but also leads to situations where theyre crying thanking you for caring about something no one ever has (which just makes you feel guilty being thanked for something that felt natural to you, making you confused)

@Irina_ZeeKat 1 year ago

I've had the "I didn't miss the implication" so many times. I outright refuse to acknowledge passive agrressive statements and it drives people nuts XD

I once managed to talk the teacher into letting me solo the group project for a course called "collaboration skills".

@darthplagueis13 1 year ago

I don't think it's necessarily that people think shy people have less going on in their head.

Rather, I suspect that people equate shyness with being afraid, and so the first instinct is to talk to them like you would to an afraid child, basically like "look, I am friendly, you can talk to me, I'm not gonna be mean."

It's infantilizing because the most typical shy person most people know is going to be like a young child who doesn't really trust other adults than their parents yet.
