Mello was Ls real successor. This is literally canon. Because he was actually capable of making bold moves to further an investigation which isnt something Near did. He was much more like L in personality with a viscious drive to win.
Thats why he was the real successor

The fact that L has so many successors (some have failed and some succeeded being one) but he is better than everyone of them and just because he died, all of these guys came to life.

Near was the better intellectual but Mello was the better detective.

Okay only halfway through the video here’s a few things you got wrong or missed out on

A and B were Alive and training to succeed L at the same time and were close friends, and the main thing that makes A’s death more traumatic for B and a main motive for B to do all those things were that they were each others only friends and also that B was able to see A’s lifespan the entire time, knowing that A would die in only a few months.

Also, Mello was the one to reject working with Near, not the other way around, even though Near never really showed any emotion, it’s stated that he “quite liked Mello” Mello however hated Near, which is why MELLO rejected working with NEAR, even though Near was entirely open to the idea.
