"The person who's name is written in this note, shall die"
Bullshit, i'll use my own name to provie it
I write my own name and die

Gonna be honest,There's only a few names I'd write before putting it away for emergencies.Sure ryuk might get bored but He'd basically just be a chill roommate.

Narrator: "You're not as smart as Light."
Half the comments: "Nah, I'd win."

Why would I be killing criminals if I got the notebook?

Could just... not use just heart attacks

11:15 bold of you to assume that I haven’t already taken the Shinigami eyes by this point

Light's downfall was actively wanting people to know that Kira existed.  It was foolish and egotistical and was the only reason L got involved and was able to track him down.

Even in this hypothetical, so many unforced errors led to L eventually finding you.

How it would probably go for me:
1. Find the notebook
2. "Nah this shit's fake"
3. Don't bother even touching it

Why would people think that there is "Someone" causing the heart attacks, just don't use it as main source

I’m not so sure most people would choose to become Kira and keep killing, especially criminals.

If I had a death note, then I would focus on a couple billionaires, while changing their means of death to things that either make sense for their history, or to random plausible options like a car crash. After I've gotten the corrupt few handled, I stash the death note somewhere and wait. If things get worse somehow, then I double down. If things improve, then I stop.

me: picks up the death note
tomorrow news: "Netanyahu, Trump, Kim Jong Un and Putin found to have transferred all their wealth to charity and suicided"
me: *Throws death note into fireplace*, "My job is done"

The best part about suiside is that a lot of victims actually wont seem suicidal before they do it

People would think something is off about me if Ryuk was my Shinigami, because I'm allergic to tree pollen fruit so me buying apples more often would raise some eyebrows among people who know me.

Assuming I have the knowledge from my currently life I would fuck with L by making a group of people write letters like Kira did to say gods of death love apples but just instead fully spell out his name to make him know I have his name then not do anything with it.

heart attacks would probably be one of the least common options i use, there's so many causes of death out there, Aneurysm and Choking would probably be my go-to options.
nevermind that i'm not interested in being "god of a new world" i'd probably mostly keep it tucked away for when i learn about something TRULY atrocious.
after which they get a relatively creative death befitting whatever they did...
in short, i'd never hit numbers that bring attention to the me or the book in the first place.

People assume I would use it for criminals

"i take a death note... and eat it!" - me since i can eat paper

Lowk, i will use different methodes all the time cause killing by heart attack is too obvious

I'd test it, find out that evil billionaire no.4 has died after getting struck by a meteorite, then probably go on a full power trip and accidentally destroy the entire world order as it currently exist by writing like 15 names (likely causing widespread suffering). Before I do any of that though, I'd probably re-watch death note first.
