Inde Navarette was a Twitch streamer and just casually dropped one of the scariest performances of the year. I'm rooting for her getting all the acting awards this year.

“What would be so bad about being with me?” “I have never been with you Bear” so haunting

I work in a movie theater, and when this movie came out, I saw four different instances of couples sitting on the benches after the movie having a real, serious discussion about themselves. One of them was a girl approaching her partner, who was silent and bent over, as she said "I'm sorry, I didn't think that movie was going to effect you so much". No arguments, nothing dramatic, but it was clear to me early on that part of the movie's success was that it WAS connecting with people on an emotional level. This, and Haunting of Hill House, are testaments to how important emotional content is to truly effective horror stories.

The real Nikki trying to take control of her own body back the entire time was so haunting! Like the way she was screaming her lungs out in the customer service call!? That's the most disturbing part.

Inde Navarrette was easily one of the best parts of Obsession. She brought real depth and emotion to the character, and every scene she was in felt genuine. She definitely left a lasting impression.

I'll never get over Bear reading out that block instead of just taking a damn drink. What a psycho.

This is why the genie in Aladdin said one of the wishes he wouldn't do is make people fall in love. He literally said he didn't like doing it, cause it's not pretty in the end.

@34:23 "You should have wished for your cat to come back" -- Someone has not seen Pet Sematary. This movie was so nuanced, I really enjoyed it and your reaction

32:17 First person I've seen who wasn't shocked or surprised by this scare. Also as much as Sarah has her flaws she didn't deserve this brutal of a death.

Vkunia: I would never make a wish and end up in Obsession. I would end up in Pet Semetary instead.

the absolutely zero flinch followed by “deserved.” in the car scene is the most diabolical shit ive seen out of these reactions😭😭

Kind of insane how this managed to surpass SINNERS's box office gross while doing it on a budget roughly 1% of that.
We are clearly seeing the modern equivalent of 1967-early 1970s unfolding before us, where a new generation of directors and storytelling styles dominate the mainstream (that era saw Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg etc. rise up the ranks, and this time it is Curry Barker, Kane Parsons, Zach Cregger, Jordan Peele etc.). Cregger, Peele, and Barker are all comedians who rose up the ranks through horror.

"NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!"

This is the most unsettling movie I’ve watched in years. Not straight out scary, just deeply uncomfortable to watch. Bear having sex with Nikki, while the “real” Nikki is crying was just horrible.

@ShredShady 2 months ago

The fact this is Curry Barker’s directorial debut he was so locked in & cooked to the next level of terrifying 🔥

@YAMaLove11 2 months ago

If you look closely once again you'll notice, that Nikki imitating Bear's cat (spakling eyes in the dark, watching him sleep etc), because he loved his cat, she even cooked his cat because she wanted him to eat what he's love. After murdering Sarah she imitates her in the last scene. She put on her dress and painted her tatoos with eyeliner, and tried to smoke.

@AnnaTruong-67 2 months ago

Inde Navarrette needs an Oscar for doing her performance as Nikki

@joeyclemenza7339 2 months ago

Fun Fact: Sarah is always to Bears left throughout the entire movie.

It's very important to note that the One Wish Willow is not in any way demonic nor evil. The wish that Bear made is what is evil. The chill guy in the store used one to get rid of his anxiety and is completely fine because of it. Ian could have technically been fine with his billion dollars if he hadn't gone to Bear's house.

This movie goes to show the talent people have outside of Hollywood. Like I’m involved in the indie film community and a author so I get to see amazing talent from so many individuals all the time but sadly very few people get the chance to go big like the makers of Obsession did. Congrats to them!!!
