I worked at JoAnn Fabrics once upon a time. The employee discount was hugely helpful, because I have ADHD and crafting is my life. Plus, there were a lot of fun aspects of the job. I really liked when Halloween got closer, and then people came in with all kinds of costume ideas. There was a young man whose girlfriend had suggested he dress as Jesus with christmas lights wrapped as his crown of thorns. There was a child who was super excited about his idea: someone who jammed their head into a hornet's nest. And then one of my absolute favorites: An even smaller child who wanted to be a freeway. It's very exciting to get to help people turn their creative ideas into reality, and so I felt very fulfilled in that way.

Also worked at a cookie factory, which was absolutely delightful. No employee discount, but we got to take home broken cookies. I came home smelling fantastic after every shift. Also, it was a small family-run business, and the bosses were really great about accommodating people's schedules. Those perks don't have a monetary value, but they were a huge improvement over many workplaces I've been at over the years.

Selling products to friends is one sure way to lose a friendship. Sell a defective product, you either lose money by giving a refund and then your resentful or you have them do what the company says, they lose money and boom they’re not your friend anymore. Shocker I know.

I’ve noticed that a lot of these high up MLM Huns have husbands. They don’t feel the effects the same as someone who is single and surviving solely on themselves

I’ve seen many clean outs of homes where there’s at least 1 box of Scentsy products left behind underneath a pile of belongings. My brain goes into anger mode because the homeowner was most likely manipulated into purchasing these products. I can’t stand mlms.

10:34: did she just admit that the “plan” wouldn’t have worked for her when she started because she could only spend 4 hours a week on it at that time? Did she just say the quiet part out loud? That she would fail immediately today if she only spent 4 hours a week on this? But… pockets of time!

If you have smoke marks so bad you have to paint over it when you move, your doing wierd sh*t with candles. These weirdos need to make up better why stories.

For the party with 3 sellers. They will pile the orders on the lowest level person— because they get the ‘points’ for the legs of their downline which gets them more money than the profits from sales. But it also keeps the lower level ones buying in and prevents them from leaving

Better be careful about doing business activities that draw a lot of cars to your property, especially if you live in an HOA. Living out in the country in a spacious property is very different from living in little regimented condos or other homes that share wallspace. It's best to check whether you may be violating rules first before starting to throw parties/open houses for selling stuff.

Basically her husband has a successful construction business which gave her the time and money to waste scamming people into her MLM. A story as old as time

Target is 💯 % a better choice. Target pays you for training! If you want to, you can quit after the holiday season. The shenanigans they use to try to convince people to join just keeps on going and going. Thanks for another great video Sam 😊

Please don't bring your MLM products into work.

Framing this as a "humbling experience" is... gross. I can't quite articulate why that got my back up so bad but, no. No.

I think that people do value a personal relationship with some businesses/business owners. Obviously we don’t expect to be friends with Target or Walmart, but rather with a small vendor like a storefront in your downtown or your fave meat vendor at the farmer’s market.
Since the scentsy huns view themselves as small businesses, it makes sense to me that they’d focus on building relationships. The problem is that the huns are too close and become too transactional, whereas there’s separation between a real business owner and their customers.

And I agree, just go work at Target or Costco instead of doing MLM.

You mentioned she lies upfront, and then she came on saying “I have a treat for you!” And in my head you paused immediately and said with a straight face “that’s the lie” lol

The "seasons of life" thing always gives me weird vibes. No one talks like that in real life.

You've gotta already have money to get samples. You've gotta have money to have parties. People are going to expect refreshments even if it's a scent party. You've gotta at least have coffee and cookies at an open house (costs money) If you're broke, she's just talking "pie in the sky" dreams. AKA: BS 🤣😂
