What fictional world do you want to explore in the next Story Explained?

I love the theory that the Penitent One is only "blasphemous" because he serves the true god originally worshipped by man who became the Twisted One. A god far above the Miracle.

To the guy that said ladders are the hardest boss in the game, I raise you diagonal stair floating platforms, sir.

Penitent One got so good at his job he was the ONLY one people asked to do overtime bro

I like how blasphemous can either be a critique of religion itself, or a critique of how someone (or something in this case) can twist divine power into something that serves itself alone. In the end, it paints an extremely fascinating view into the paranoid, penitent religious times of the dark ages. It legitimately feels like playing a baroque painting, in both it's artistry and story, and its excecution of how it portrays that story as a beautiful yet haunting presence. Blasphemous I and II are two of my favourite games of all time.

Ladders are the hardest boss in the game

Best crowd funded startup game ever

blasphemous 1 epilogue

Custodians: Yay we're finally free from that dreaded Church!
Eviterno: Oh I wouldn't say freed, more like "under new management"!

When the twisted one appears after the high wills are slayed, he puts his hand on the Penitents cheek, not shoulder. It is an embrace of love and gratitude.

Easily one of the sickest games out there…lore-wise, gameplay-wise, worldbuilding-wise, soundtrack-wise. Just amazing.

Carlos Viola freaking sent this masterpiece to gaming heaven with his music.
Blasphemous is not a game. Its a experience ❤

But for god's sake I completed the game 99 percent and still missed like 80 percent of the story. Why should it be so hard. Without this video, I really didn't understand anything. I'm thankful. I just realized the protagonist's role and story and the true ending is incredibly like hollow knight.

A Castlevania-style series of Blasphemous would be fire

".....descends and resurrects a champion of old,"

...." THE DOOMSLAYER. "

Literally posts exactly what I’ve been thinking about, you’re the best man.

For anyone who hasn't played, or is planning to play again, I highly suggest playing with voices in Spanish, the dub is the best you can get in Spain, and it really adds to the Semana Santa theme, so do yourself a favor, same goes for both games.

This is maybe mentioned already, but the penitent one's helmet is modelled quite closely on the very real Capirote hood. Afaik, in Spain during the Catholic holy week, you can see actual penitents wearing Capirotes of various colours walking barefoot in procession through the streets. They all represent different Catholic brotherhoods.

I swear if I was a billionaire I would pay a looooot of money to the studio that made castlevania’s animated show but on blasphemous with the same art style….

Im only 8 minutes in and this is very well put together and very well done. More than I could have even hoped for before I clicked the vid.

I didnt even played the game but got hooked from minute 0 until the end on this video. Great work!
