I love that hornet is a proactive protagonist.she decided what to do. She decided that climbing the citadel was her objective. She decided to visit the void and she decided to find the Everbloom. She knew from the dream niel that visiting the past was an option and sought a way to do it. She didn't need a prophecy or suggested solution to her problems. She is wise and learned enough to find solutions of her own.

I really love the Sister of the Void ending not just for the fanservice of finally seeing the Knight again, but because every time the void or the abyss is shown or mentioned before then it’s implied that Hornet is and always has been particularly afraid of the void, and on top of that we know now how much she pitied her siblings and resented the Pale King for their fate. After that ending she not only was able to personally overcome the void, but she saw that now after the events of Hollow Knight there’s at least a part of the void that won’t hurt her or let harm come to her. To me that’s a really sweet ending to a part of her character that wasn’t even implied in the first game.

Silksomg lore is just a loop of someone saying “well at least it can’t get any worse” and then it cuts to things getting worse

I think my favorite detail between both games is the Pale Lady......
She was a mother 1000 times, but didn't raise ANY of them, not even the Hollow Knight. So instead of being bitter about Hornet, she decided to love her instead..........

I can't wait for Hollow Knight: Sherma's Wrath

You know what's funny, the fact that at the Weavers won but left the first sinner chained and forgotten 😅

38:30 The Pinstresses are likely misplaced in the timeline here. I'd think they have to precede the creation of the Sentinels, since the Second Sentinel uses the Pinstress's charged cross-slash.

I think Lace was the one who freed Hornet at the start. We see her commanding lumaflies later. And then she tries to kill us. Later we find out she doesn’t want GMS to be able to claim Hornet’s silk. So it seems she freed Hornet to slay her and keep her from GMS.

With all disasters the haunt and the void it's amazig to realize that Pharloom stands by one will: Trobioooo's

I love how it takes 50 minutes to get to the actual begining of the game
in media res fucking rules

I also love how the menu screen you get after the true ending are Hornets and Laces needles on the surface together, to me that implies that they are now traveling the world's beyond pharloom together which is so fire

Seeing the knight carry Hornet is such a wholesome moment, plus it had an I owe you for her saving it from the pale kings wyrm corpse lol. I haven't beaten the game but I can't wait to do it now, just so I can see my boy again!!!

It's my headcannon that the shrines are petrified weavers and not statues. Also I like to conceptualize hornet binding them, Widow, and Eva as not simply taking their power, but joining their Souls to hers, through which part of their consciousness lives on in her (kinda like BG 'sharing' and 'other memory' in Dune).

May also play into why Weaver Queen is the bad ending. I.E it's not just the Power of GMS that would corrupt Hornet, but her memory consciousness subtly exercising malign influence, and or outrightly exerting control and posessing her shell ('Abomination').

It's kind of insane that so many people will miss Verdania completely

I know all this... am gona watch it anyway.

I think that this is by far, the most comprehensive lore video about silksong on youtube... at least currently. I was very confused about the timeline of the citidel, the weavers, and GMS so thanks a lot for making sense  of this convoluted timeline

Lol, can you imagine being a Weaver living in Deepnest when the King and Lady moved in?

"The fuck you mean it's TWO this time??"

Not sure if you're going to touch on it, but I think Hornet recognized that the Caretaker of the First Shrine was a Snail Shaman soon after they met. The Caretaker says something to Hornet like, "There's more to you than you let on," to which Hornet says something about the Caretaker pretending to be a humble bug. (I am going off memory. I should look up their dialogue, and also watch the rest of this video haha)

0:57 Savior of hollownest? NAW!! My boy the knight saved hollownest.

By the way, it seems that the void tendrils that reach up from the Abyss are in fact void clinging to GMS's silk threads as she tries to escape from below. You can see that they contain silk as they disappear during the ending cutscene.
