Just to let you know that those Wagon Wheels are half the size they used to be back in the 1970’s and 80’s. 🇬🇧
In fact most of the UK chocolate bars and chocolate biscuits have been shrunk in size.

The flying saucers are made from rice paper and the inside is sherbert. I'm 70 years old and they were sweets from my childhood, as were pear drops and lemon sherbert.

Cadbury was the best, but since the takeover, the recipe has changed for the worst. Now, all the stores are discounting them to move stock as sales have slumped.

Cadburys was absolutely ruined by the purchase by Kraft. As is pointed out elsewhere it has declined in popularity in the UK

Unfortunately in last 4 years chocolate has gone to dogs here in UK with palm oil and rapeseed oil replacement in lot of chocolate instead of milk fat and cream as cheaper

Cadburys went downhill when an American company (Kraft) took it over, then they sold the company to Mondelez and they made the chocolate even worse.

The chocolate orange is a British chocolate, having been around in the UK for 90 years ! Terry's chocolate orange dates back to the 1930s and was originally manufactured in York , North Yorkshire , England. York was known as the "chocolate city" . There were several large chocolate manufacturers in York ,with Terry's and Rowntree both famous for looking after their employees .

Quality of cadburys has dropped since being taken over by an American company called Kraft, more sugar less cocoa, more palm oil , and powdered milk , they blamed rising costs for drop in sales, the important figure is market share which has dropped

I am from the UK and unfortunately these kinds of foods have suffered from recipe changes and "shrinkflation" ie. the price is higher but the product is shrunk in size but in very clever ways that once packaged looks like they always used to be, but aren't. Also chocolate percentage has reduced significantly and cheaper ingredients such as palm oil is used. It's now called chocolate flavour as it cannot be called chocolate anymore. On the plus side with youtube there are many recipes of these once favourites so we can all make our own sweet foods and we know what goes into them, but even the basic ingredients are being altered with chemicals now and we have to be careful what we buy and eat.

Centuries ago "Digestives" had originally been given to patients in hospitals to help them take medication, and over the centuries they became popular as a snack to include many different varieties such as chocolate digestives biscuits etc.

The Digestive tag was initially used as a sales ploy, to try to sell them as a digestion aid.
Over the years, they became a semi sweet biscuit to have with tea or coffee, and became the best biscuit (cookie) to dunk.
Chocolate was added at a later date on one side, and it's probably one of the UKs most favourite snacks.
There are no medicinal benefits really, but they keep the name as it'll ease the conscience of anyone eating them one pack at a time.

They were called wagon wheels because they were, likened to how big the wheels look on a wagon, they were big, but now are small, although they're still delicious, especially the one with jam inside! 😋

Flying saucers are made with rice paper which you can eat or dissolve in the mouth the inside is not sugar but sherbet, UK/ European sweets tend to have less sugar and less artificial sweetners and colouring/ flavours than US. We use natural flavours and colourings it will tell you on the packets/ wrappers. Caramel
