The Signatory Heavily peated Ben Nevis 5yr in Oloroso was exceptional for me. It's my first Ben Nevis, and I'm most excited to explore additional expressions.

I’ve gathered quite a few whiskies to try before the year ends. Among those I’ve tasted so far, the ones I really enjoyed are: Bunnahabhain 12, Glenmorangie 14 Quinta Ruban, Tullibardine 228 Burgundy, Nikka from the Barrel, and Glenallachie 12.

Evening mate.First off have to say we are so lucky with whisky prices here in Germany compared with the UK 😄👍
My top 5 this year so far are Bladnoch Alinta twinned cask 47%abv
Ardnamurchen 2018 Single Cask Oloroso 60.5%abv  bottled for Rolf Kasper here in Germany.
Then from Berry Bros and Rudd a Blair Athol Single cask 52%abv and a Caol Ila Single cask 57%abv
Top of the pile is the Aqvavitae Virtual malt from Decadent drams at 55%abv

Special mention goes to my 60th birthday bottle that I received from my dear wife and family.A Glenburgie from G+M Distilled in 1966 and bottled in 2014.An absolutely amazing dram !!

All the best to you mate..😮

My 5 favorites this year, so far are: Thompson Bros Mystery Malt No.6 Harris 8 Bourbon Cask, Thompson Bros North Highland 8 Jahre Blended Malt (Clynelish/Glen Ord), Adelphi Private Stock Reserve Peated 46% vol., 1770 Glasgow Bourbon Cask 8, Kilkerran 8 Bourbon Cask (this year 8 year old Whisky seems to be the sweet Spot for me)

Have you tried Lagg Corriecravie!? It’s incredible. So much dark chocolate, earthy sweet peat, barnyard funk, and sherry influence 🤤 I see that you love Arran’s stuff and they make Lagg as well (it’s their peated expression). Cheers! 🥃

I've bought a few bottles so far this year, and my favorites amongst those that I've opened, so far, is as follow....Port Askaig Cask Strength  Batch 2 botteled in 2024 at 59,1%abv, PX/Olorosso/Bourbon casks....Ardnamurchan 2018 AD/Peated Sauternes botteled in 2025 at 50%abv, 3 years in bourbon casks and 3,5 years in Sauternes barrique....and finally a single cask from Gordon&MacPhail, a Bunnahabhain 2011bottled in 2025 at 58,7%abv, a first fill Sherry hogshead no.244, 1/285 bottles 14yo. These three is my whiskies of the year, so far, I can't say just one because it's a mood thing for me, these three are so completly different. Cheers

When it comes to Single Grain Whisky, consider trying "Observatory" or "Greign". Both 20 years of age, both from the Macduff distillery I believe, both available for about 25€ in Germany. O. matured in bourbon, G. in sherry. Interesting stuff!

My preference so far this year is Arran 10 local barley, I like it more than the 14y.  I also rather enjoy SV tartan army (Ben Nevis), value for money super.  Springbank  10 would be 3.  My go to’s are both blends, Campbeltown Loch and Maclean’s nose, love both

Good video

My whisky(s) of the year -
Circumstance single grain (wheat) - 47.8%
Retribution american oak PR005 - 52%
Cooper King - Angels dram - 56.4%
Cotswold Signature - 46%

My favourite though and has been for a while - Circumstance Rice

So many recommend that TBBSW. Just havent pulled the trigger yet. Is it "great for the price" or great in general?
Ben Nevis sounds interesting to try out. Haven't particularly enjoyed the Nikka's I've tried though. Also never tried Mortlach yet. Great rant. Like to hear your thoughts on them all.
As for Compass Box Orchard House, I only had a sample way back. I thought it was good, but not like the super reviews many people talk about. It's certainly different to own a bottle though, so that might be it (it's around 60 euro here though so).
My favorite first tries this year are probably Springbank 15 and Laphroaig The Cask Lore

Tamdhu 15 at the start of the year was excellent.
Currently finishing an Undisclosed Speyside (M) Signatory Vintage 100 Proof Exceptional Cask Batch #16 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 17 Year Old 2008 Vintage, delicious.
Receiving a bottle of Hibiki master select in a couple of days, which will hopefully scratch an itch!

Dramfool - Jim McEwan Signature Collection 9.2 Port Charlotte 2007 1st fill Vosne-Romanée Barrique | Dramfool's Gold : Red Bag 20 years old - Cask strength Indy Ardbeg | Thompson Brothers Bruichladdich Rhinns 2011 | Port Charlotte PC6 | Brave New Spirits Glenglassaugh 2014 |
