Little channel update around 31 mins in guys!

Hello from me (the Welsh ex-pat) up here in Bielefeld in Ostwestfalen..
I don't often rebuy any bottle, love trying something new much more but there are a couple I have rebought over the years (I'm an old git and I've been drinking Single Malt since the 80's) Glenfarclas 15,Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban,Arran 18,Springbank 15,Glenallachie 15 and Kilchoman Sanaig are the one's I can remember off the top of my head.
All the best to you mate and keep the videos coming !!

First time viewer but really enjoyed the video. Was shocked you left Ledaig out. Not a big peat fan but their 10 and Hebridean moon at delicious. Most shocking part of the video was calling rhubarb a vegetable. My simple brain has never even considered it anything other than a fruit 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

The bottle I always replace is the glendronach 12, great video by the way!

Solid list, and a great concept. One I've been wondering about, but just personally. Like .... do I want to keep a channel going, and if I do not, what whisky would I actually keep around! Good choice. Internet is a wild place. Take care!

Great picks, I love the Torabhaig. Haven’t had the one you mentioned though. I’ll try and get it

My 10: Glencadam 10, Deanston 12, Lochlea Orchard & Oak, Arran Quarter Cask, Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair, Kilkerran 12, Glasgow 1770 Bourbon Cask 8, Ardnmurchan AD, Raasay The Draam, Ardnahoe Infinite Loch

Topp 5 of my 10 bottle bar would be
1. Springbank 10/Kilkerran 12. Could change between them, but SB a touch ahead
2. Ardnamurchan 10. The unpeated version from 2024, just love it and have several bottles in back-up
3. Deanston 12. Bourbon cask loveliness at a fair price
4. Ardbeg 10. The list needs a Islay staple as well
5. Thompson Bros TB/BSW. For some well balanced sherry notes

My choice, Roseisle 12, Macallan 12 110 proof, Jack Daniel’s 10, Woodford Double Oak, Blanton’s Single Barrel, Redbreast 12 CS, Kavalan CS Olorosso, Tamdhu Cs Batch 7, Compass Box Orchard House, Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt.

I agree with most of your list, but I've never liked Wild Turkey Rare Breed, any of the Redbreasts or Speyside (M) bottlings I've tasted enough to want to buy a whole bottle. For other bourbons to put alongside Eagle Rare, it's difficult for me to pick things that are as available and affordable, but I usually use Old Grand-Dad Bonded and/or 1792 Bottled-in-Bond to show people what bourbon is like and Woodford Reserve was the first bourbon I actually liked, so there's that...

My top choice for Irish would be Powers John's Lane Release, with one of the Spots (Yellow > Blue > Green) a close second. With sherry bombs I tend to have rather expensive tastes!

Laphroaig 10 is the only whisky I've bought more than three times: it was what made me fall in love with Scotch and I've never been without a bottle since July 1982 (thanks to gifts from people who heard me talk about it, I once had 4 bottles at the same time)! If we were stepping up the proof, I would go for the Sherry Oak Finish, rather than the Quarter Cask, as I think it has better balance.

Good luck with the name choosing!

Glenmorangie 12, Glencadam 10, Bunnahabhain 12 CS, Ledaig 10, Laphroiag 10 Sherry Oak, Glenfarclas 15, Macallan 12 110 proof, Glan Scotia 15, Glenallachie 12 & Cu Bocan 15.

Great list mate. I must have been logged into another account since I havent seen your videos. Have some catching up to do there. Eagerly awaiting Torabhaig's next releases. Ardnahoe as well. Good potential in the newer distilleries and that's awesome. Oh and I gotta get around to buying that Tobermory 12.
I had a 4 new whisky month last time we spoke and promised I would give my 2 cents on at least the Auchentoshan. First, I had Laphroaig The Cask Lore and Springbank 15, both of which are excellent. The Springbank has grown since the neck pour with more taste and less bite. It is very similar in profile to Longrow Peated which we both love. Both have that peach marmelade note for me. The Cask Lore was a quintessential Laphroaig and the saltiest whisky I ever tasted. Big plus for that. Not sure it beats the sherry cask, but it's close for sure. I also had the Glen Scotia 12, which was a let down for me. Very typical pear-note bourbon maturation. A good whisky, but I find that style uninteresting.
As for the Auchentoshan 13 SV. This was a beautiful, clean, "elegant" sherry profile. One of the best in that category that I've had I think, together with Bunna 18. Not particularly fun or interesting and also not my favorite category, but still. Great price as well, around 70 bucks

Cool video, Ash! Don't want to be that guy, but all Macallan is natural colour. The only real bonus of their core range.

Port Charlotte 10, Glencadam 10, Ardnamurchan Cask Strength, Deanston 12, for something more expensive Loch Lomond 18

It is a little bit of a long row that makes the capbeltown  loch

Interesting list. For me:

Bunnahabhain 12
Laphroaig 10 CS
Springbank 10
Glencadam 15
Craigellachie 13
Lagavulin 8
Glenfarclas 15
Kilkerran 16
Balblair 15
Talisker Distillers Edition.

Powers John's lane 12 year old. Glen Cadam 10 and Benromach 15 year old. Cheers

Is there a difference between 'spirit-forward' and 'spirity'? E.g. I wonder if people say 'spirit-forward' as a euphemism for 'just tastes burny and lacks flavour', when that doesn't have to be the case for something which isn't heavily casked.
