" finding the next BTS = delusion" Fairlaine is right!

Would have loved to learn more about how big of a contract BTS had to have signed for it to be Board-approved. That is very interesting!

BTS concert is obviously highly budgeted, not to mention that it is hiring at least 300 staff for each concert which includes the art, lighting and stage directors, sound engineers, structure engineers, band musicians, dancers, choreographers, stylists, hairstylist, make up artists, logistics team, sanitation, safety and security and many more. For dancers alone, I think they have at least 50 dancers per show.

They started testing the whole city concept long time ago. And Hybe uses what works.

Shout out to TWICE for continuing to break records in the west (with no proper marketing btw) after people swore they'd only ever be an Asia-only act.

Hybe has BTS, Enhypen, SVT, TXT, and now Cortis and Katseye. I personally do not think the other companies have a roster this many and this solid. BTS alone is already a money making machine.

It's probably important to note that the vast majority of western artists are also not making money from touring; post-2020 the conventional wisdom has flipped and touring is now seen as a loss leader rather than the primary source of income as it used to be. Only the biggest of big names like Taylor Swift and her ilk are making money from touring nowadays.

There's that one company.. BTS is that company. hahahaha

High margin Merch and being able to reach new and old fans (who then stream, buy albums) is the main output of touring. Not profit from ticket sales.

Thank you!  The business behind the art is so interesting. 💜

Fairlane always seems to address things that I think about regarding the expansion and longevity aspects of the music industry.  Thanks for the education and expertise.  👏🏾👊🏾👍🏾💜🔥

Lots of great information and analysis. (I feel bad for the group named "Next Baby". How horrible!). I hope the labels place more emphasis on bringing in idols that write music and lyrics. To me that is the special, secret sauce that makes groups stand out from others.

Thank you for your analysis.  It was, as always, enlightening and entertaining.  💜

talent fees for artists should be paid for what they genuinely deserve.

Good analysis and data. Would be interesting to do more comparisons to western models under the huge Universal and Warner conglomerates, and Sony and Avex (XG's parent) from Japan. UMG, Sony and WMG control about 2/3 of the global music industry with their various labels and ventures, which is complicated by other media like Movies, Television, and various IP driven ventures into food and consumer products. Also, an analysis of remuneration to idols versus corporate pay agreements and contracts would be interesting. Large project, but besides the music and the idol fandoms, I am interested in the business side of things, which you show good effort in on your channel. Keep going! Salamat!

I am honestly amazed that you can look at an earning report and tie in whatever is happening around and it tells a story. I could never. This was really interesting.

With their Ready To Be tours, Twice becomes the highest touring kpop girl group in North America.

Just like any business, even a small store requires continuous creativity and updates. HYBE clearly distinguishes itself from other companies. It's inspiring to witness BTS's efforts thrive and serve a bigger purpose. The team at HYBE has done an excellent job shaping the future of K-pop. I believe SM and YG are becoming complacent, resting on their achievements from years or even decades ago. Meanwhile, BSH is under investigation, showing that they had strategic plans for their artists and business.

Only 1% of the entertainer tours (Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, etc.) make money. And the Arirang tour has faced some of the costly unkowns like rain, but their fan base stayed for them.

Thank you. Another very informative video.
