Good video. “It’s tough, but it’s fair,” As a certain lawyer once said

The show is not 100% pure however it's 99.1% pure

the magnet plot is like a GTA mission lol

It is kinda funny how forgettable the plane crash is for how major it really is, it almost feels random

The biggest flaw of Breaking Bad was the network forcing Vince Gilligan to remove the eight-minute-long Mike oiling-up scene. The closest we ever got to it was an homage in Better Call Saul when Nacho is running from the Salamanca twins.

The point of Jack's group being so evil was to show how far he had fallen working with demons and to keep the focus on Walt rather than their lives. Him killing them at the end was essentially him cleansing his demons.

"Walt is not an idiot who takes unnecessary risks"

If that were true he'd have worked for Elliot for the big paycheck and health insurance and the whole show wouldn't have happened.

I feel like Mike should've known that the laptop is encrypted

Breaking Bad may not be perfect, but do you know who is?

Huell.

First point is weird because the point of Saul is that he's a "CRIMINAL" lawyer and that he'll have connections especially because he's a "CRIMINAL" lawyer.

Truth be told, no form of art or entertainment is flawless no matter how good it is, but sometimes the flaws give it character too.

For the first point , I believe the "hacking thousands of computers " is just referring to a botnet. Those are used for sending lots of traffic at once such as a DDoS, which do occur. So Saul knowing someone with a botnet is entirely plausible

2:24 "Jimmy will go to prison for you" is top-tier unintentional foreshadowing

The reason Jack's gang is so one-note evil is because Walter, throughout the story, killed or had a hand in destroying every single player in organized crime which had a shred of principles to hang onto. Gus was a terrible person who cared very deeply for order and neatness, the Salamancas valued respect and a twisted sense of fairness, Mike had a heart and ideals he believed he clung to, but once all of them are gone, Walter is in the same snake pit as all of the other rats. When Walt, Jesse, and Mike are on their solo adventure, it's to reinforce the idea that Walter destroyed all the foundations of organized crime in New Mexico and now, they were on their own. They would be abused by other criminals who were now on the same level, be chased by the same authorities they hardly had to worry about after getting a leg up in the meth business, and be subjected to the same small scale, day to day uncertainty as every other criminal on the block.

Walter's foray into small-time crime was short lived. He was never meant to be a vulture, he was meant for the cushiest seat the drug business had to offer, and when he voluntarily put himself on the same playing field as lifelong vultures like Jack and his gang, Jesse and him BOTH suffered.

Jack's gang doesn't represent a contrived, plot-demanded group of paper-thin evildoers, it represents the guys who would stab you in an alleyway outside a bar and leave you to bleed out before you ever had the chance to fight back. They were controlled by pride just like Walter, and died because of it, just like Walter.

I love how Breaking Bad has become so entrenched in meme culture that people just feel obligated to fill their video essays on the show with memes

Honestly never seen a problem with Saul “knowing a guy”. He’s a lawyer for petty criminals, he’s been for years. He’s gonna make some connections and find some people to do specific jobs. Especially having someone who makes people disappear isn’t all that unlikely imo

I feel like they missed a great foreshadowing opportunity for the magnet  episode by simply making the magnet not work. But making walt and everyone else think it did and the only reason they didn’t find him out would be the encryption. This would work really well since it would  foreshadow 2 things: 1st when Jesse says Walt is luckier than everyone and 2nd Walt’s eventual arrest at the end of the season showing how luck runs out

This is a good video and I mostly agreed with your critiques. But I do think you missed something at 12:30 Todd’s not trying to convince Jack to keep Jessie alive for more money (even though that’s what he says), he’s doing it because he wants to keep working with Lydia. Jack even notices that’s what he’s doing and decides to go along with it, so I don’t think they’re being uncharacteristically greedy.

17:48 Walt’s a different person by the end. This is a Walt who has spent a year in complete solitude. 1) he could’ve spent a lot of that time meticulously planning his revenge and 2) he already gave his money to his family and was ready to die regardless of if things work out. I can understand the idea that Walt got too lucky in the final episode but the idea that it’s just so incoherent to who he is as a character is weird. Him being so flippant and using the m60 and such is showing us that he has changed. He lost everything, he passed on the money, everyone wants him dead, what’s the point in being as careful as before? To preserve his life? To hide that it was him? To avoid the authorities? He planned on dying anyway. If anything it makes less sense for him to have had some careful risk proof plan where he doesn’t get caught.

6:40 Just because a character says they will or will not do something, does not mean that will or will not happen. The first half measure Mike takes is in the scene where he wants to shoot Walt with Jesse in the way. Its Jesse that has him slip up due to him seeing Jesse as a son. Combine that with the magnet idea and its plausible why Mike would agree to the plan.
