Good thing this is a videogame. Real grocery stores would never use tricky psychological ploys to maximize profit

The wolf of Wallgreens

Imagine the google reviews for this store. "The products are expensive and the owner refuses to turn the lights on at night." And later on, "This store has a great variety of expensive products. Also they hit the shoplifters with bats."

I just realised why these job simulators are so intriguing...they actually have tangible upwards movement, growth is inevitable, that's the fantasy aspect that makes these games so fun.

The ambiguous amphibian animations have been a thing for a while but I'm still not over them.

"Daily wage 80$, that's 80$ a day"
Math checks out at least

I really like how AA clearly genuinely enjoys all these games he plays. And you can’t just buy this kind of grocerer expertise at a grocery store.

This game has so many little things that are completely bizarre if you stop to think about them, but my favorite has got to be the neon "closed" sign that warps into a neon "open" sign, instead of, you know, just a normal neon open sign that lights up.

Supermarket guy’s ability to restock an entire store in zero seconds makes him the fastest character in fiction

1:25 Not only have I been inside Supermarkets, I also observed them from the outside countless times as I was asking myself "Should I go inside and buy more munchies?"

20:57 ah yes, I love Optimarket Prime. His battles with MegaStore were always so cool

The largest possible Market in this game isn't big enough to be a "Supermarket"...

The only thing "super" about this is AA.
Bravo Sir.

Produce, sushi, and meat are the cash cow. Always buy those direct from the store, only order huge items like bleach and TP for delivery. Also, you can edit the amount of money you have in a JSON file in plaintext in your save game folder. Just open the file in Notepad, and Control+F "Money" and then save the new value.

Also, also: The actual cash cow in this game is Cake (St Michmich), stocked in a vending machine (yes you can do that). People off the street will buy 60 dollar cake out of a vending machine like they were buying a coke on a hot day. It's basically a free money glitch but you have to stock vending machines by hand. Still, though - the profits are insane. There are a lot of items that can be sold out of vending like candy but cake is one you wouldn't expect.

You can also stock beer in vending machines.

My first job was a bagger at an Albertsons. I had a dream on day three that I was in hell and hell was a grocery store. The shelves were a foot apart and Dasani water was 10k a case.

Setting the prices astronomically high and discounting them to a reasonable price to milk the deliveries (which were not discounted) was always the ultimate way to cheese the game.

Unless they patched it, I always considered it the “cost of convenience.”

Fun fact, fake discounting like this is just straight up illegal in many countries because it's kinda just false advertising. Not the good ol' US of A though

“I’m not tryin to nickle and dime ya”….proceeds to short change the customer by $.05.  😅

He isn't just simulating a supermarket, he's simulating food price inflation as well

Now this is the suffering we want

Ah fantasy escapism.  Buying groceries.
