All this in under 16mb.

“Grassgobbler” sounds like a slur one would use against people who make weed their entire personality

The non PC Sims games were works of insane genius. The Sims 2 for the DS in particular is a glorious fever dream.

Now do the sequel where you crash your ship into the city, choose a social circle to integrate into, attend college, help organize grassroots protests against gentrification, then survive a murder attempt from the richest man in the city, challenge the devil to a bango duel, and... no. Better leave some things undiscovered for people who haven't emulated or owned.

I only just realized the pun in the name of Ephram Earl. Ephemeral. Because he's a ghost. Amazing.

Re watching GBA games in 2026 makes me remember the sheer unhinged amount of content devs managed to put in those cartriges

I was too scared of the Velocirooster(?) to actually play this game. The fact it would randomly appear in places scared the shit out of me.

@Foundlilly11 3 weeks ago

I think I must have played this game for hundreds of hours. The crazy rooster, driving around on my moped, the haunted house. Daaaaamn

Tickling strangers, the one true way to make friends.

Back when handheld ports had to be different out of necessity. I miss those days.

CLEAN YOURSELF UP so you can move to the BARN with the COUCH that housed generations and generations of rats.
I think Uncle DESPISES us. (better TICKLE him)

These portable Sims games were so incredible silly. I remember spending hours to the Sims 2 DS, and the only thing it had similar with the Sims is just having needs you have to fulfill lol. The devs had a lot of fun making these.

This game is like someone describing their entire life like your dad telling you how "Mommy and Daddy were just wrestling".

@RagingLoony 3 weeks ago (edited)

I used to do a challenge run in this when I was a kid that I called the 'Hobo Run'. After doing the objective to place the furniture in the barn, immediately pick them back up and sell them, and you aren't allowed to buy more or use your homes in general. You had to keep your motives up by whatever means around town. And no cheese by using Uncle Hayseeds house either! Loaded up my old GBA to check and its complete at the last mission in 89 days

Played this game so many times. I remember you can reach chapter 3 by Day 3 if you're lucky. You can do all of the chapter 1 missions before even speaking to Uncle Hayseed, then sleep to 5am for the lawn mower job. Then you can do all of Chapter 2 on day 2 and if you're lucky you can do the Smoothie Slider job before 11pm that night.

This game brings me joy... Not because I played it and liked it... but because I worked at Griptonite while this game was in test.

I miss the drag names old sims npcs had </3

@kevlap017 13 days ago

considering this game is supposed to happen over a summer vacation, it makes sense to do it under 100 days, that's a bit over 3 months.

18:07 That’s a Les Mis reference. “24601” is the prisoner number of the protagonist Jean Valjean. The main antagonist, Javert, is a police officer who becomes obsessed with catching Valjean after he escapes probation lol. It’s more involved than that, but that’s essentially the reference.
