REN is in a league of his own. His ability to storytell through lyrics and performance is unmatched. WOW!

Jenny was silent, like her mum, Screech was violent, like his dad.

One thing that is often overlooked: Jenny, being Screech’s twin was also 14 years old, walking the streets in high heels, late at night.

For Jenny he wore red....for screech blue....red and blue make violet. Everytime someone says who's violet a freckled angel gets its wings

Lots of ppl refer to violet the colour - but violet is also a flower: old fashioned, sweet, fragile.

In literature, violets represent someone who dies too soon. For exalt, Shakespeare used violets for ophelia.

I think you guys are the only reactors that have gotten Ren's intent with the line "It's such a shame " He wrote Jenny's Tale based on a news report, and was disgusted by the reporter's flippant attitude.

Ren’s lyrical abilities are evident when he says “please let my babies stay alive”, but it sounds like “let my baby stay alive” leaving the punch for the very end.

I've watched this so many times and what I find fascinating is how with Jenny, it's sad but it's dismissed as "well, it happens". With Screech, we're a little more invested, we feel his panic but again, he killed someone and his fate was sealed. By Violet, we're invested. We get more backstory and we care more but when the big reveal happens we find sympathy for Screech. We suddenly consider his childhood, and he becomes both the villain and a victim. Also, the twins being born, and dying on the same day, but one street apart. Like they were always joined, but never together. It's really brilliant.

That’s why I will always say Ren is a bard not a musician. He’s a storyteller not one who does not sings for views but one who sings to the soul and does not apologize for it.

Jenny and Screech were born on the same day and died on the same day.

One of my favourite details in this, is that it goes from blurry to clear when he pinches her eyelids open. Such a small thing. But once you see it, it can't be unseen.

Not often you hear music that brings awareness to intergenerational domestic violence, and how often the cycle perpetuates..

You are the first reactor to predict that Violet would be Jenny’s mother so early in the story based on the fact that they both had the freeze response to fear. Well done, great reaction ❤🎉

19:16 Ren got the idea for Jenny’s Tale after reading a news article about a woman that was killed by a teen boy. In it one of the police officers was quoted as saying ‘it’s such a shame’.

Jenny's Tale was released in 2019, Screech's Tale was released a year later and Violet's Tale in 2022. The numbers 2-0-0-5 in Violet's Tale stands for the year 2005, 14 years before Jenny's Tale was relesed. Jenny and Screech were 14 years old when they died so the story takes place in 2019.
Appearently Ren did some sort of series on his Insta about Screech where you could see the reason why Patrick wasn't home when Screech knocked on Patrick's door and his girlfriend was busy when he called. She was having an affair with Patrick and he was with her at the time Screech called her.

Jennys song was inspired by a tv news item about a young prostitute who was murdered. Ren was struck by the insincere it's such a shame at the end. He filmed Screech about two months later and Violet's tale camecabout two years later. Rens comment on generational violence.

I’ve seen it suggested that Violet’s own father was the father of the twins, and that she was already pregnant when she and Stevie got together (hence the flat supplied by welfare).

@garysherwin3316 1 year ago

😂😂😂😂 the obligatory " who the fuck is violet "

@joeloedeman5160 1 year ago

I have an ex-girlfriend who was moved out of her mom's house at 12. She was put up in an apartment paid for by welfare. She was abused by her mom's boyfriend(s). Her mother knew. There were circumstances that kept her from normal foster care. Luckily, the detective who worked her case unofficially took her in, helping to break the cycle. Even so, there were scars.

For Violet's Tale, Ren definitely drew from the experiences of some of the women in his life: I had an ex girlfriend and a little sister who suffered years of domestic abuse so Violet's story was close to home. 😢
