What do you think of Chapter 2 - Season 2? As good as people say, or just plain overrated?

I remember that a LOT of people hated season 2 when it was out. I was soooo surprised when I saw everyone saying that it's a S tier season

C2 S2 has been the peak of post-black hole Fortnite imo. Good theme, good loot, good updates, good LTMs, good events, good modifications to the core gameplay loop. I didn't even mind the extensions, it was just that good.

oml I miss the shake down feature SO bad. Literally nobody hated it and was one of my favorite features ever added I’m not kidding

Yes (Henchmen Noises)

I don't see Chapter 2 Season 2 as a "second golden age", because really I see the golden age as C1S4 to C3S4, with its ups and downs. This season will forever be my favourite, even if it isn't objectively "the best" experience. There was a vibe seasons caught back then that they just struggle to pull off now. The map was cozy but reflected the atmosphere of the season. Now, it feels like the maps are designed to stimulate you with crazy things where sometimes simplicity is far better. And the removal of lobby music was in my opinion one of the worst decisions in the history of Fortnite - S12 had 3 of the best scores by Phil Boucher released as lobby music (not to mention the other ones he did for the Henchmen and Spy Games LTM's, even the battle pass purchase screen - the detail was insane) which really added to the vibe. The last time we've really had a memorable season theme was probably Chapter 4 Season 4, but with the way jam tracks work now you don't get a "Spies!" style lobby music in each pass, or even the previous season's event theme. This is a huge loss and no one talks about it

I don’t think any season of Fortnite has been perfect yet. However, I think C2S2 is the closest we’ve ever gotten. We had a great Lootpool, tons of new mechanics introduced into the game (vaults, mythic guns, bosses, henchmen) we had tons of mobility, and this is the season when Fortnite started to take their story way more seriously. What makes it 10x better is that this was the season during lockdown from COVID.

you forgot the thing where every two weeks or so, the player base got to choose how a poi got slightly revamped based on whether the ghost or shadow got more votes

They need to bring back shakedowns. They were so much fun. And the events were absolutely incredible. This season was absolutely fantastic. And the last 15 seconds of the video brought up some great points, so glad I’m not the only one who thinks that!

i just know someone will disagree but i think ch2 was beautiful the live events story guns battle pass was ok it's nostalgic for me

I can’t wait for this to return in Chapter 2 OG!

it had its issues but it was def top 3 seasons all time, especially for the little things like the agent game modes and just how many tournaments we got

Ch2 s2 was really fun I loved the bosses and henchmen, the POI'S, the battle pass, the vaults, the faction chests, shakedowns, Spy Games, the Choppas, the Kingsman Umbrella, the weapons and items,  the mythics, the Travis Scott concert live event, and the Device event this season was so fun

Nothing will ever beat Chapter 1 (S4-8) but C2 S2 was great. Also fun fact, the device event glitched for the lobby I was in, it never started

I’m just gonna comment yes without watching the video

Ur my favorite chapter 2 enthusiast.
