From the storytelling to the emotion behind each advert, it was easy to see why John Lewis Christmas ads have become such a big part of the season in the UK. Some moments made us smile, others caught us off guard, and overall it was a really enjoyable watch.

In case you didn't realise- the piano Elton John is sat at is the original one his mum gave him as a present when he was 4 or 5 years old; he still has it to this day.
Sadly, his mum passed away in December 2017 and his Christmas ad 'The Boy and the Piano' aired the following year in 2018- so his pain was still very much raw.
Some gifts are more than just a gift. Merry Christmas everyone!

I can't believe that "The bear and the Hare" and "Monty thr Penguin" weren't included amongst these - they are the best ones in my opinion..

Not seen the Man In The Moon one with that song on it before, normally it's Half A World Away playing over it. Weird.

What I think is so special is at no point is John Lewis actually advertising their products. No mention of offers, etc. just the whole feeling of Christmas.

I worked in a John Lewis store in 1973 to 1975. They were a very good firm to work for , They really cared about their staff. xx

These ads really showcase the wonderful talent in the UK, filmmaking, acting & the agencies that can create really "human stories". They look deceptively simple but show the talent behind them. Thank goodness we love to see them & there are shops that embrace them, like John Lewis. There's really a lot of amazing film making talent across the UK & Europe ect Great to see it .

To me the one with the man on the moon represents the joy of Christmas for the little girl,but the loneliness for the old man who has no one at Christmas

John Lewis Christmas adverts are so iconic that's everyone wants to be a part of them to the point they put the bar so high that all stores and supermarkets had to raise theirs ❤
